I’m featuring a pic of these black diamond and crystal earrings today to show that even fairly small, neutral glass stones can have real design impact! These multi-stone settings have 10x8mm octagons and 4mm round stones.

And these can be customized all kinds of ways! The jewels I show here are neutral – black diamond, or gray – combined with sparkling crystal. I do have many colors available in my shop that fit these settings – making it easy to use your favorite colors, or the colors that match your bridesmaid dresses, or any kind of customization you choose.
The mannequin I use is close to “life size”, so the pic gives a pretty good idea of the size of these earrings. Imagine making them in your fave colors, or your mom’s, or your customer’s. You get the idea!
Peridot green glass gems are on sale in my Etsy shop. You know that peridot is the birthstone color for August – and I figure peridot glass gems absolutely fall into that same category. Beautiful, with terrific faceting, and super affordable – and in time for planning some gifts for your friends and family who have August birthdays!
For the next week – through midnight on June 30, 2022 – when you purchase any peridot green glass gems, you can get a second pendant or pair of jewels, free! Order the gems you want – and then mention this blog post in a “Note to Seller” to tell me want your freebie (and you can dicker on which one that is!) Only while supplies last (I have to add that, you know how it is).
I do have more shapes and sizes than are shown in the pic above – and sometimes I have others stashed, but haven’t got them listed yet. So if you’re looking for a specific style or size and don’t see it – please do send a note and ask, I might have some!
The flower shaped, silver plated brass filigree in this earring design idea is one of my favorite filigrees. Right now I have it in my shop in golden raw brass – note that I do have a few silver pairs left, so just drop me a note if you want to see some!
The combination of glass teardrops and flower shaped filigree really works here I think! And since most of my jewels are available in golden raw brass as well as silver plated settings, you can match whichever metal settings color you prefer. I do have a limited quantity of the filigrees in silver – just drop me a note if you’re interested! And I do have more on the way.
Delicate, feminine brass filigrees combined with glass gems – this is a winning combo that you can customize with your favorite colors and shapes. And you don’t have to spend a lot of money. This is a win!
You know that jewelry is a lovely Christmas gift, for your mom, your bestie, your sisters. And of course, if you make your own jewelry, you give a very personal gift – and you save money!
And it’s always fun when you use “traditional” Christmas colors for your DIY jewelry.
Red and green glass jewels are always appropriate for Christmas – and when you use faceted crystal alone or combined with colors, you get year-round sparkle!
Great DIY jewelry – great prices – this is super for do it yourself jewelry!
Wedding season is coming!
That’s true of course. But also true is that sparkling crystal jewelry is always in fashion. It always looks great. It goes with almost everything. And crystal jewelry makes wonderful gifts. So, you knew all that already.
But the “goes with everything” and “makes great gifts” is something to keep in mind. If you want to make a pair of earrings or a pendant or bracelet for your favorite customer, or for your college roomie, or for yourself… you KNOW that crystal is going to look great.
Do it yourself jewelry. Save money. Make personal gifts for your friends. This is a win!
P.S. Click on the pic above to see even more crystals available in my shop right now. And just a note – I’m going to try some new bridal designs in the next weeks. Stay tuned (and tell me what you think!)
We love lariat necklaces!
They always fit. When you want a special gift for your sweetie, you don’t have to worry about “will it fit”.
When you buy – or make! – one for yourself, you know you’ll be able to wear it with many different necklines. So versatile! And a wise way to spend your jewelry money.
And – I’m going to do more with this soon – you can use more than one color on the featured teardrops, or special jewels at the ends of your lariat. Red – and blue? Why not? Purple and green? Why not?
Or just focus on one gorgeous color, like this emerald-tipped lariat:
Now is that a great gift idea or what? A gift for your bestie, using her kids’ birthstone colors. Or for yourself, with your faves. Save money, make fabulous jewelry, this is a win!
Peridot is the birthstone (color) for August, so I was playing with jewelry design ideas featuring peridot crystal gems that I have. Once I pulled out these two elements – the peridot crystal pendant, and the golden brass flower connector link – the combination seemed irresistible 🙂
Use a golden chain, with or without a connecting jump ring – and you’ll have an easy-but-gorgeous necklace!
Hint: mom would love this. Or your bestie. Or maybe you should keep it, just to, you know, field test the design 🙂
Aqua and aquamarine – you know they’re the birthstone color for March, right? It’s also worth noting that aqua is one of the most universally flattering colors. From light aqua to deeper turquoise, almost everyone can wear it. If you’re born under the zodiac sign Pisces (Feb. 19 to March 19, i think? correct me if I’m wrong!) – aqua is also your zodiac color.
So if you’re wanting to give (or make!) a gift for your favorite Pisces, or your bff, or your girlfriend, or your mom – or even you – aqua is a wonderful choice! And also, as you can see here, it’s beautiful!
And from today through March 1, 2020 (at midnight) they’re also on sale! Buy one pair and get the second pair (or pendant) free. The only catch is “equal or lesser value” – and while quantities last, so don’t wait too long.
Enjoy – make pretty gifts – or pamper yourself. It’s a sale after all!
I was looking at these gorgeous navy blue (montana sapphire) jewels last night, and my girlfriend mentioned that her mom just loved navy blue. Well, I thought, these would make a great jewelry set for her. Me and my girlfriend worked that out (she’ll dog sit one afternoon, and she got the pretty jewels plus findings and chain. A win-win!)
Anyway, that just got me thinking…Mother’s Day is a couple months off. No rush, right? But hey, maybe you’re making a lot of gifts anyway – or maybe you make jewelry to sell. Mother’s Day is a day to remember! And Moms like lots of different colors. Like these gorgeous montana sapphire stones!
The earring beads come in one-ring, two-ring, or no-ring settings (as shown) so you can make exactly the style you like best. And your mom? She’ll love them!
There’s a couple things about this bracelet I wanted to point out. First, these clear gems are so fun when you put them in golden brass settings. Suddenly you have sparkling golden gems (at a much lower price!) And the “cushion cut” faceted gem style works really well for bracelets – good faceting, and not too big or small. The squarish shape (really an octagon with gentle corners) is a classic gemstone cut for a reason 🙂
The bracelet is easy to customize for size – first by varying the number of gems. You can add more small jump rings between each stone, for even more flexibility and subtle size differences. Also, as shown here, adding more (or less) large jump rings at the end make the clasp – and sizing – variable.
This style really works! And as an added incentive – you’ll love this one – the clear cushion cut gems in my shop are on clearance sale! I have quite a few, but still – when they’re gone, they’re gone – you might not want to wait too long.
Besides, since this bracelet can be personalized (size, style and color-wise) it’s a perfect gift for birthdays and Christmas. And hey, for yourself too 🙂
