Do it yourself necklace design idea – welcome to 2019!

Happy new year! I hope you all had a fun New Year’s Eve, a peaceful New Year’s Day, and are all set for a fun 2019!

Hey, it’s a terrific goal. And of course I think that 2019 should include making your own jewelry – for yourself, for gifts, and for customers too. It’s so easy to get started, and it doesn’t have to cost a lot! Just for example, think how easy it will be to customize this do-it-yourself necklace design idea.p>

The pendant can be your customer’s favorite color – and the golden brass round tags, stamped with her initial. Add more than one, for her kids’ names! (Yes she’d love it!) Start with this basic design, and add your own creative ideas – make it your own!

Do it yourself – and save – and make people happy with their gifts and purchases! That’s a good goal for 2019, too 🙂

Peridot is the August birthstone color

And yes, that’s just a small hint – that peridot green is a happy, yummy color – and it’s great for all your August birthday girls! For instance, these vintage oval rhinestones…

are adorable! They’re 12x10mm, which is a smallish but pizazzy delicate pendant size, just nestled at the base of your throat on a cable chain. Or add earwires for instant, gorgeous, comfy (and affordable!) earrings. Of make more intricate designs. Just remember: peridot green is the August birthstone – and very personal to your August girls. Peridot green is a gorgeous color. Vintage glass is eco-friendly.

And all these bennies are yours with such pretty jewels!

Birthstone colors for jewelry – part one

I’ve been looking at glass jewel combinations lately – in birthstone colors, that is. I had a lovely girl ask me to send her the stones for a bracelet with the birthstone colors of her three kids – and that got me thinking about stone colors, and personalized jewelry in general, and of course Mother’s Day.

So I’m going to take a few pics here and there of combinations of glass jewels that look great – and are also representative of colors that could be picked because of your kids birthdays!

Like these:

Now these particular jewels are emerald green – the birthstone for May; white or crystal or diamond, which is the birthstone (and color) for April; and aqua or aquamarine blue, which is the birthstone color for March. They’re pretty together, in whatever combination you choose – but if you have kids born on May 12, April 18, and March 7, these stones would be even more personal to you.

This is a fun way to play with colors – and if you’re making a gift for a Mom in your life, you can be guided by her kids birthdays! Easy peasy, fun, and personal – and a great gift idea 🙂

P.S. Of course you can always search my shop for other shapes in these colors – go to that spot on the upper right where it says “Search items” – and if you can’t find just the shape you need – ask!
