Red glass hearts for Valentine’s Day gifts

Of course I had to feature the gorgeous faceted red heart jewels I have in my shop right now. I haven’t had this gorgeous, vivid color in a while and I was so happy to find them!

I do have other colors – sheer sapphire blue, spring peach, deep rose pink (and clear hearts that are surprisingly sparkly!) But red is just *the* color FOR Valentine’s, yknow? And there’s still time to get these before Valentine’s Day. All you need to do is add earwires or chain and your jewelry can be ready to gift! (If you need those too, let me know).

Easy and lovely Valentine’s Day jewelry – this is what DYI is all about!

Amethyst Glass Stones for February gifts!

Okay, I’ll admit it – I wanted to show off more amethyst glass gems I have available in my shop. Yes, I’m awfully fond of amethyst – I’ve said that before. It’s very wearable, and somehow purple gems (manmade, glass, or ‘natural’) are just kind of special, yknow? Maybe we still think of royalty from a long long time ago….

The stones shown here are called “cushion cut” – a classic octagon with rounded corners. They’re 12mm x 12mm, about 1/2″, so they’re large enough to have real presence but they’re still super lightweight. In this design, I added some silvertone chain – nothing expensive – but you know, these look super good! And these earrings would make a great gift, if you were thinking of that 🙂

You know that amethyst is the birthstone color for February – yes, there’s still time to get supplies and make these – and gift them to your bestie! (Or yourself, of course…!)

Jewelry Design Idea with Amethyst Glass Gems

I love amethyst. Yes the real gemstones are lovely – but you know, my budget isn’t always prepared for precious gemstones. But beautiful faceted glass gems? They are so afforable and definitely on my personal favorites list! Take a look at this jewelry design idea, just for example:

Yes, these are jewelry components available in my shop. I will add right up front that they will not be hard to find in many places, especially online. But I will also add that I try hard to offer excellent quality stones – I really focus on not sending the ones with scratches and nicks, and the colors are as close to reality as possible on my monitor (yes I know monitors vary, but we do what we can!) I try to send the best!

Actually I am thinking about adding a “scratch and dent” category for those stones that still look good but defintely are not “best”. If you have any opinions about that idea I’d love to hear them!

PS And you probably remember that amethyst purple is the birthstone color for February. Yes, there’s still time to make some fabulous jewelry gifts for your birthday girls!
