It’s getting to be gift-giving season (though of course it’s always a good time to make gifts). I thought you might be interested in a few of the items I have on clearance sale right now!

These jewels are while-supplies-last so you might want to go check, just in case there’s that exact color / shape you’re looking for!

And of course, making jewelry for gifts – or for yourself – is a fabulous way to be creative AND save money. Talk about a great idea!

Amethyst and Sapphire Glass Earrings Design

Another vivid color combination – faceted glass gems in amethyst purple, and sapphire blue – try these for a gorgeous pair of earrings!

Really this is just another way to urge you to try your own color combinations – your own design elements – and make DIY jewelry that reflects what you love!

It doesn’t hurt that making your own jewelry can save you a lot of money – and you can make JUST what you want. DIY = do it yourself – you’ll love it!

Necklace Design Idea with Red and Purple

Pretty jewels off my workbench – I tried a new combination, a deep amethyst purple ‘checkerboard’ faceted square diamond shape that measures 10mm x 10mm (approx. 3/8″) paired with a vivid red teardrop pendant (it’s 25mm x 18mm, about 1″ x 3/4″).

It’s not a combination I would have grabbed as first choice – but I love it. Yes, it helps if it works with your outfit – and who wears red with purple? Well I have been known to do that – I bet you have too…!

Try new colors – don’t spend a lot of money – and make fabulous jewelry for yourself and for gifts.

Now that’s what DIY is all about!

Christmas Necklace – Design Idea

Just for fun – imagine some pretty glass teardrop jewels combined with delicate brass filigree. Now add Christmas colors 🙂

Wouldn’t that be fun to wear to a Christmas party?

Of course the other thing this picture reminds me of, is that when we design our own jewelry (or clothing, or home interiors) we can combine the colors we love – and have fun with it!

Isn’t that what DIY is all about? Use what you love – create – you can make it work!

Sapphire Vintage Glass Gems – September birthstone

Sapphire blue is always a customer favorite – year round. And these pretty sapphire blue glass gems are also the rich gorgeous color of the September birthstone.

The combination of sapphire blue, vintage glass diamond shape gems with slender teardrop or pear stones is perfect for earrings with a lot of presence – but not a lot of weight. I love gorgeous earrings that aren’t heavy!

These might be just the style that your best friend, or your mom, or you would love – and customers love them too. Just saying!

And oops, I meant to post this earlier, for timely September birthday gifts. But it’s still a good idea to mention – for your September birthday girls – but also Christmas. And, well, just for you!

Christmas Jewels

Yes, it seems a little early to be thinking about Christmas! But you know, if you’re going to make Christmas presents – or even more, if you’re going to make jewelry you hope to sell for Christmas gifts – it’s definitely time!

Of course this is just one example of how you could combine “Christmas colors” into a pretty and fun pair of earrings. And I’ll be showing more in the next few days. But even more – this is just to get your creative juices ticking. Combine unusual colors – or go classic with red and green.

Think of combos, sizes and shapes that your best friend would love – that your sister would love – or your mom. (And hey – that YOU would love!)

Don’t spend a lot of money – but rather, spend a little time inventing and creating. Creativity + low cost. This is a great idea for Christmas!

Glass jewel earring styles – in multi stone settings

“Multi stone settings” are a great way to customize your jewelry. As you can see in the examples shown below, there are several different styles you can select – and in almost all cases, you can also choose the colors of the jewels you prefer!

The small octagon setting at lower right could have, for example, red octagons – and emerald green tiny stones, just for Christmas fun! The teardrop earrings could be in crystal-with-crystal gems for a bride – or deep amethyst teardrops with pink tiny round stones. Lovely!

You get the idea – you can easily customize these colors and styles to suit your mom, your bestie, or your customer. And it’s so much fun to play with colors!

And I almost forgot – when you order, mention this post and get a BOGO (buy one pair, get one free) deal, good through Sunday, September 12, 2021. Just saying!

Heart Stamping Tags – Make Personalized Jewelry!

Stamping tags are a wonderful way to add a personalized touch to your jewelry. I just got in these cute heart shaped tags and I’m going to make some gifts!

Add them to small jewels or beads to make personalized earrings, or perhaps to a pendant. Or use several to spell out the name of your bestie. Or make presents with the initials of her kids.

You get the idea – there are lots of fun, easy ways to make personalized jewelry!

(I’m going to add a few pics in the days coming up – just showing examples of some of my favorite designs!)

Montana Sapphire Navy Blue Vintage Oval Glass Gems

Back in my shop! I love these navy blue oval glass gems for Fall (or anytime of course). They’re a deep blue, sheer with no foil backing, so they’re a little smoky but still catch the light. Love them!

They’re great for earrings “as is”, of course. Also – bracelet links, glass connectors, necklace “chains” – you name it! When I get a chance I’ll post some more pics of them in use.

And as you know I like to do – there’s a BOGO sale (buy one, get one free). From now through midnight on Friday, September 3, 2021, just mention to me when you order that you’d like a free pair. It’s that simple!

While supplies last. You know: don’t wait too long!

Clear Glass Bracelet Design Idea – and a Special Offer

I made this bracelet to see how these totally clear glass cabochons would work as a bracelet. Their only color comes from the settings, and they’re not faceted – so how would they look? Would they have any sparkle?

And the answer is yes!

Now about that special I mentioned above! When you click on the pic you’ll find the clear octagons. The bracelet as shown is made with ten octagons. If you want to make this bracelet, you’d need 5 pairs. But if you order 4 pairs, just mention to me when you order that you’d like a free pair! It’s that simple.

Offer good through August 31, 2021 at midnight. Have fun making your bracelet! I think you’ll love it.
