I was looking for something totally different at the time, but I saw this beautiful gown – vintage of course – and just had to share.

I love this dress – it’s festive, it’s flattering, it’s affordable – it offers a hint of decolletage without being too heavy handed – it’s just a wonderful dress! And that color is beyond gorgeous.
And the shop, WTF Vintage Womens on Etsy has lots of other goodies on offer.
You’ll love it – check it out!
PS Okay, I have to say it – Kate S., who runs this Etsy shop, lives across the pond. I bet she didn’t even know about WTF, that’s an American colloquialism. Now stop it. It’s a stunning dress and you will love her shop.
Just a peek at some of the clear vintage glass and vintage rhinestone jewels I have available in my Etsy jewelry supplies shop right now.

I love clear jewels – and I didn’t expect to. I mean, they’re colorless, they must be boring, right? Wrong! They have a lot more sparkle than I ever would have expected – glass cutters know what they’re doing, it turns out 🙂 And since the jewels are clear, they really do go with everything.
This is a win-win. Your jewelry looks good – and you don’t have to agonize over choosing. Just grab it and go.
You save time. You look great. You’ve got a little added sparkle 🙂
Yay!
PS By the way – and I’m sure this has already occurred to you, if you’re looking for bridal jewelry….. Clear jewels are fabulous for a bride. They add sparkle and light, and they don’t compete with your gown. Like I said, win/win!
And this I thought was very interesting. I posted a couple days ago to show off my pretty vitrail (volcano) pear jewels. And I do love them.
But some of them had bad foil, so I did my usual removal thing (soak in vinegar and salt).
So this is how they look once the foil backing has been removed:

Pretty cool, huh?
And yes they’re available in my Etsy jewelry supplies shop.
Vitrail. Volcano. Two interesting names for a gorgeous jewel color combo.
I don’t know for sure where they came up with the names – I suspect they’re copied from a Swarovski color. Daniel Swarovski was an engineering and possibly marketing genius, and certainly his company is at the top of the field, both marketing-wise and quality-wise. A lot of their names have melded into public color names – siam red, for example.
Vitrail or volcano, these are the SAME jewels, with pics taken under different lighting conditions:

Sometimes they show purple, green, topaz, pink, coral or tan colors against that deep background. Sometimes they’re almost all green, or blue. Sometimes – well, you get the idea. They’re almost never exactly the same – each piece has tiny differences.
All gorgeous.
I couldn’t resist, I had to go visit Look Again Vintage on Etsy again. Every time I go over there I find some goodies to fall in love with.
I mean, look at these!

Fabulous Red Blazer from Look Again Vintage
Think how that would jazz up your winter wardrobe! Take any neutral – black, gray, navy, brown, winter white – and add this pop of red. It looks great, it has good detailing, it’s major affordable, and did I mention RED? Love love love.

Open-toe, high heeled tan pumps from Look Again Vintage
And did I mention shoes? How important good shoes are? These Garolini open-toed pumps fit my favorite criteria. They’re high heels but not so extreme that they’re guaranteed to be painful – and I’ve worn Garolinis before; they’re well made and usually *more* comfortable than other brands. And, they’re “camel tan” color – which in my book translates as almost “nude” – which means (this is the important part) that unless you are very very pale or very very dark skinned, these are going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of flesh color – and wearing these, your legs just got looking longer.
Plus they look good all year round. Totally.
So right here I’ve highlighted two fabulous finds – and there many many more in this shop. If the shoes are gone, I’m sorry (if they were my size they’d be gone already!) Don’t worry though – she has a great eye for finding deals and quality and it is SO worth visiting.
Look Again Vintage – go visit. Asap.
You’ll thank me!
If light purple or lilac works with your wedding colors, these will make wonderful bridal and bridesmaid jewelry for you 🙂

These jewels measure 16mm (about 5/8″) x 12mm (just a smidge under 1/2″). They’re a great size for earrings and necklace focals. I’ve placed them in shining silver plated settings. The underlying metal is brass – which contains no nickel or lead. These are gentle on the skin.
They’re available in my Etsy jewelry supplies shop.
I figured it was time for a new look at my Etsy jewelry supplies shop. Often times I can get new supplies of some of my “classic” vintage glass jewels – but I also have some wonderful new colors. And some classic rhinestone styles that are new (and reorderable) – and well just gorgeous!
I’ve talked before about do it yourself – and how you can make just what you want. And save money. And, well, these days saving money is about as fashionable as you can get 🙂
You know, it is so amazing, the great vintage fashion – strike that: the great FASHION – you can find online, and yes, especially at Etsy when you start looking.
You need to find a great party dress? You could not do better than this one:

from JD Bok on Etsy
Yes, this is just an example. But it’s a great one. It looks terrific. It’s a great price. You’re not going to see it everywhere else this season. And if it’s gone when you go look, well, they have lots of other goodies.
Vintage shopping? THE way to shop. JD Bok – totally worth checking out.
Green rhinestone jewels – in their many incarnations – well, they’re special. Partly because I’m a redhead – well, sometimes, with just a little help 🙂 Partly because the tang of olivene green is always fresh – and peridot sparkles – and emerald green? Well, let’s just say emerald is flattering on almost everyone – I mean, really flattering. And it’s gorgeous. And looks expensive.
For example – these are just some of the green vintage glass jewels I’ve got in my Etsy shop right now:

You see what I mean? Flatterng. Affordable. Gorgeous 🙂
P.S. Yes, I’m on my “vintage glass beads or jewels” kick. Funny how used we are to using “beads” in our jewelry – even when technically they’re not beads because they have no holes (so, they’re “stones”). But people like to say “beads”. So, well, “beads” it is, sometimes 🙂
Because I’m getting in the mood for Fall – fresh air and new outfits (even if they’re thrifted or vintage, they’re new to me). Don’t get me wrong – I love summer. But Fall Is terrific!
And look what goodies I’ve been finding:

This red print peplum dress – from Baby Bird Vintage on Etsy – is a great summer-into-fall transition dress. And it’s affordable, and flattering, and cute. Love it!
and

I love this gown – it’s jersey so it’ll never wrinkle, it’s super affordable, and it’s a great color 🙂 Add a lacy shawl and some bling and wear it to Homecoming or for a Christmas party! Yes, it’s from Baby Bird Vintage on Etsy
and this!

You will wear this Baby Bird Vintage black velvet blazer all the time. Push up the sleeves, throw on a tee or tank and a pair of jeans and you can go to work – or out with the girls – or a club. I’m telling you, all the time!
And these are only a small portion of the cool finds she’s got in her shop – if these are gone when you check, there WILL be more. These are wearable, comfortable – affordable – clothes you can fit seamlessly into your wardrobe. Check out her shop, you’ll thank me!
