Sapphire glass jewels – DIY necklace design

I just tried out a new(ish) necklace design idea featuring sapphire blue glass stones from my jewelry supplies shop. Sapphire is another one of those colors that’s almost universally flattering, so if you’re making a gift for someone it’s a good bet. Or if you want to sell your jewelry creations, well, sapphire can be pretty popular!

This is an example of a simple, easy-to-make jewelry design. And I called it “newish” above, because the idea of dangling gems or beads from a necklace chain is certainly not new. But I think I’ve given it a pretty spin here. The sapphire blue diamond shape stones here give extra emphasis to the central teardrop pendant. And of course you can adapt this idea so it works best for your own design idea 🙂

It’s also good to know that sapphire is the birthstone color for September. Handy to know and still lots of time to order – and create!

Aqua glass gems for your DIY jewelry

Yes, I wanted to show off some new stones I just got in my jewelry supplies shop. Aqua – or aquamarine blue – is such a popular color. It looks good year round, and it is flattering to almost every skin tone. Dark skin, light skin, sallow or flushed, you can wear aqua blue!

The new stones are the 8mm x 8mm diamond-shape or diagonal squares shown here. They’re actually lovely when used alone, as a small earring drop or pendant. But they’re also super useful combined with other stones. The example I show would make wonderful dangling earrings or pendants – just link the stones with jump rings and they’re ready to use! Or combine with other colors. (Yes, I’ll show some samples soon!)

And yes, I’m going to sweeten the pot 🙂 Buy one pair of glass jewels in my shop – and you get another pair free! The offer’s good through midnight on Monday, August 23, 2025. Buy one – get one free: easy to remember and easy to use. Just mention this blog post when you order and let me know what free pair you want!

Beautiful faceted glass pears – and a sale!

Pears, or pear-shaped-teardrops, are absolutely the most popular faceted glass stones in my jewelry supplies shop. I do have them in several sizes, from 13x8mm faceted jewels that are wonderful for slender, delicate earring components or connector links, and in larger sizes – up to pendant-sized 25x18mm. So you can find the size – or sizes – that work best for your DIY jewelry creation 🙂

The pear jewels showing above are medium-size. At 14mm x 10mm, they’re definitely large enough for gorgeous earrings (or delicate pendants) – but they’re also small enough to be super comfy! And if you create a design that uses multiples, well that’s fabulous too!

And hey, to make that even easier, from today through Monday, August 17, 2025 – for every pair of 14x10mm teardrops you buy, get one pair free! Buy one – get one free. Just mention this blog post when you order and let me know what free pair you want.

And have fun creating your jewelry!

Crystal clear pear shaped teardrops

The crystal teardrops shown here are one of the most versatile glass gems you can wear! When in doubt – crystal always goes with your outfit. It looks good day or night. And these are a modest size, 14mm x 10mm – so they’re lightweight and comfy to wear all day. Or night 🙂

Of course I have many more teardrops in my shop. And they are the most popular shape for my customers. Feminine, interesting, flattering. Great for gifts, or to make jewelry for sale, or DIY jewelry for yourself. I think you’ll love them!

P.S. Of course these are wonderful for bridal and wedding jewelry. But you already thought of that!

Sheer garnet glass stones

Garnet is such a versatile color! I think it’s often regarded as a gemstone of love, which is nice but since my stones are glass, not precious gems, I’m not sure if that applies. I don’t mind that: mine are lovely, and the quality is consistent – and they’re affordable 🙂

Please take a look through my shop, at the various colors and shapes I have available in glass stones. Compare them with the garnet stones in my pic. There are some wonderful possible combinations! Imagine garnet with aqua, or turquoise. Or with black, for drama. Or with emerald. A lot of great possibilities!

And to sweeten the pot, from today through Monday, August 11, 2025 – for every pair of garnet stones or pendant you order, you get one free! Buy one – get one free. Just mention this blog post when you order 🙂
