This is just a quick note that, drum roll, color is wonderful! Use it. Try it. Play with it!  The earrings shown here combine three (slightly) different colors from peridot to light blue to aqua. Of course you could use any combination of colors – the point is, to try ideas. Some of them won’t work, but some of them will be wonderful! Use whatever pendant you like best – in this case, it’s a sparkling peridot green pear.  So aside from the fact that it looks great, if you look closely you can see that the peridot teardrop hangs from a loop of silvery chain that matches the multiple strands of necklace chain (stainless steel chain in this case). And – the pendant is removeable! You could make several pendants of your choice, slip one off the necklace chain and replace it with the color you want to wear, today. Oh, and the peridot shown here is the birthstone color for August. Just in case you need an August birthday gift! These gorgeous deep amethyst glass gems are vintage from the 1950s, I think – I’m using the paper they’re wrapped in as a reference (the paper has a New York phone number – and it *pre-dates* area codes!) So aside from being true vintage, which is pretty wonderful – using stock that doesn’t have a new ecological footprint – they’re also gorgeous. Don’t you think?  And the sale I mentioned? You see what I mean? Grab a few glass elements, play with design and style, and make these earrings your own! Okay, I’ll say right up front that of course these earrings would look great year-round. But I was playing with faceted stones on my worktable, just trying new ideas, and these really would be perfect for the Fourth of July! This easy DIY earring design is the result – find the right stones, add jump rings, and you’re good to go!  Make the design your own! Change sizes and shapes, and even colors – really the thing to remember is that it’s always a great time to try new ideas… This is a classic necklace design – made new with fresh elements! I’ve paired opaque aqua glass rondelles with a beautifully faceted emerald glass octagon pendant.  You don’t have to make a complex, fussy design to have gorgeous jewelry! You need great elements, basic skills, and an eye for good design. And you know you can personalize this idea with your own favorites – or the colors your customer requests. This is a win! P.S.
