I recently got in some new blue zircon rhinestone octagons in petite 10mm x 8mm size. These are perfect for glass connectors in two-ring prong settings – they’re also adorable small pendants and earring drops. And this gives you a size comparison for the three sizes I have in stock.
Partly the pic just helps to show scale. How big IS the 18x13mm size compared to the 10x8mm? Well you can see that here. You can also play with ideas, of combining the small stones with one larger centerpiece, for example…. or use all three sizes in a fantastic pendant or pair of earrings… or, well, you get the idea. Play with jewelry design ideas! Your imagination is free – and the stones are pretty inexpensive too 🙂
I just had to show you this great dress I found! I was actually looking for summer dresses – and this one could be worn in summer – but honestly you could wear it year-round, which is even better. But really, the best part of this dress is that it’s a bit unusual, it’s lovely, it’s affordable, and did I mention it’s so cute? I mean come on, that matters!
It’s available at Kitten Surprise Vintage at Etsy, and the owner/curator Marjorie really knows how to find vintage goodies! Not to mention, her prices are good-to-terrific, and she includes clear pics that show the details you need to make an informed online buying decision.
Bottom line though – is she’s got great stuff – and this dress? Love it!
If you’re making a pair of earrings for a gift (or for sale) it’s really popular to personalize those earrings. A simple (and pretty!) way to do that is to incorporate birthstone colors into the earring design. Use the giftee’s birthstone color, or maybe combine the colors of her kids’ birthdays, or maybe his-and-her colors – for example, crystal for the April birthday girl, and emerald green to represent the guy’s May birthday – combine those two colors in her earrings!
That’s just one idea – there are so many combinations and colors that are beautiful together – and meaningful for the person who will be wearing the earrings 🙂
I’m going to show some more ideas using birthstone colors – sometimes it helps to see color combos, and seeing one design or style can sometimes help spark a gazillion new ideas. Let’s have fun with this!
Yes that’s right! Refer a friend to my shop and when your she (or he) places an order worth $25 or more (not counting shipping costs) – YOU get 25% off your next order!
She (or he) has to mention you – by your Etsy name, so I know who referred them – but really that’s the only complicated part, so be sure to mention it. And remind them they need to order $25 or more. Come on, that’s not hard to do! For $25 you can get several pairs of earring jewels, or pendants, or a combination. Or enough rhinestone jewels to make earrings for all your bridesmaids. Or for your besties at your class reunion!
This offer is good for the entire month of July 2018, so you’ve got a little time to find a crafty friend who needs sparkly jewels. **
(Or more than one friend – Yes, you can get more than one promo 25% off!)
You know I think vintage shopping is the best – and this cute summer dress shows you just what I’m talking about 😉
This adorable dress is available from The Hanger and the Log on Etsy. The shop owner, Missy, is new to Etsy – but not new to vintage! The way she puts it, she just loves thrifting, has learned to find cool stuff, and now she’s sharing 🙂
She also is very smart – her pics are clear and give us the details we need to make smart buying decisions. She shows tags, buttonholes, straps – all the good stuff. And admits right up front that she’s not infallible. (And by the way – her prices are so reasonable – and low!)
This is a shop we’ll want to remember – and follow – and support!
Here are some new (and some restocked!) vintage and new glass jewels in my shop – yes, they’re just in time for summer. But also? Pretty Fall 2018 jewelry designs!
Don’t you love the colors? I swear, more and more I am leaning toward pure tints, unfoiled stones – so I can really see the colors. Of course that can vary with each design, and every woman that wears these might see them differently – but I think we can all agree, we love beautifully faceted stones for earrings and necklace designs. Pure color is pretty terrific. Affordable stones is even better 🙂
(PS And there are more on the way – stay tuned or better yet, ask to see the colors YOU want to use in your designs!)
I just wanted to show off some of the pretty sapphire blue glass jewels that are available right now in my shop 🙂
Sapphire glass cabochons and faceted rhinestones – there are many more styles to check out. And right now, I’m offering a BOGO sale! Buy one pair of jewels – get your second pair free – and you get to pick the pair (subject to availablility, and equal or lesser value and all that). Just mention what you’d like for your second pair, when you order!
The BOGO offer is good from June 24, 2018 through June 26, 2018 at midnight (Central Standard Time here in the US) – so don’t wait!
I just added these sheer, vintage glass teardrops to the clearance section in my shop:
These are vintage, and in great shape for their age – but I don’t know if I can get more. The faceting is really interesting – it’s on the bottom of the jewel – so it shows through (there’s no foil on these) – but the tops are smooth. Very pretty!
And on clearance sale. As long as they last 🙂
And what is a torque bracelet, you ask? Basically it’s an open wire bracelet, usually doesn’t have a clasp, and can be twisted or opened to slip it onto the wrist. No worrying about fastening a fussy clasp – these just slip on. It’s an ancient design (Celtic, I think) – in the modern world.
The ones I’ve got in my shop have screw-on ball ends… so you can add jewels or charms that are personal and special for your bestie, or your mom, or a customer… or yourself 🙂 Attach your charms with wire-wrapped loops, or sturdy jump rings. Unscrew the ball end, slip on your charms, and restore the ball end. Your charm won’t get lost!

That second pic shows one example of how you can personalize your bracelet. Choose favorite colors and charms, add as many multiples as you want, and you’re good to go. Easy peasy, and fun, and did I mention these are a great buy at just $1.69?
Just saying 🙂
And I just wanted to mention, I’ve added the stock I have left of the aqua vintage glass pendants – pictured below – to my Clearance sale. I don’t know if I can get any more, so it just seems fair that the last dozen or so be available at a great clearance price!
I might be able to get more, down the road – but with vintage there are no guarantees. It’s such a pretty pendant – and so easy to use, just add a jump ring and chain and you’ve got a lovely piece of jewelry!
That’s the way it’s supposed to be. And these are on sale!
