Triple rhinestone jewels – choose your color

I recently added another color combination to my collection of “triples” – glass earring (or pendant) dangle beads that actually have three rhinestone jewels. I’m already getting a super response to this emerald, aqua, and crystal combination:

A little added perk to these “triple” listings is that I can offer a “choose your color” option – there are several color variations (and of course you can always let me know what colors *you* want and I’ll create a combo just for you 🙂

I’ve said it before: it’s all personal. If you can get just the colors you want, well, that’s a good thing, isn’t it? Yeah. Thought so.

Tribal boho silver pendants

These necklace focals (pendants) were called Boho the other day – and I think that’s a good tag. I’d been thinking of them as “tribal” – but they are maybe closer to the way we think of “Boho”. A little bit earthy, a little bit off-beat, maybe a little funky too? (Boy is that an outdated word…)

You know I love sparkly girly jewelry. But there are times when we want something a little off-center, a little androgynous, a little bit funky too? Yeah. Sometimes that really works. I’m going to be exploring more in that direction.

I’ll be curious to see what you think (let me know!)

Upcycled boho sundress – trending AND unique

I love it when I find unique, attractive, upcycled clothing. That’s what fashion is all about, yknow?

green upcycled boho sundress from Pandoras Passions

Let me tell you about this dress. You don’t need me to say it’s fab to look at: you’ve got eyes. It is also washable (hey, upcycled fabrics, which is not only uber cool but means these fabrics are *durable* or they would be long gone). The neckline is flattering – and the seaming offers some structure and support without being all pokey. The little tie at the back waist means you can make it fit you *exactly*. The handkerchief-hem is fun and flirty.

And. You’ll be wearing a garment that nobody else has. It will be YOURS alone. And it’s made from upcycled fbrics, I’m repeating that, because it is so cool. And on top of that? This dress is a great value!

I found it at Pandora’s Passions upcycled clothing boutique on Etsy. I’m loving this shop. Terri, the designer/owner, needs to be encouraged to do more of her wonderful work. It’s fun, flattering, affordable – unique.

And eco-friendly. And gorgeous. This is a win!

Amethyst and jonquil glass jewels

A customer recently bought these particular jewels for his wife (and asked me to create earrings with them, which is wonderfully simple with the addition of jump rings and earwires). She took the time to write me afterward and tell me how much she loved them.

I have to say, I was kind of impressed with the husband for thinking of it 😉 And with her courtesy in writing.

She said she was going to send me a pic of her wearing them – as soon as I get it, I’ll post it here!

Amethyst glass jewel set – DIY jewelry

I love this amethyst glass jewel set. It’s a pretty color (amethyst purple, the color of love, but you knew that). It’s feminine and classy and delicate without being so dainty it disappears. And it’s easy to use!

Add a jump ring and chain and your necklace is ready. Add earwires and you’re good to go. If, just as an example, you needed a jewelry set for your Mom? You order this, I send it out next day, you get it in 3 days (okay, knock wood) and you add the findings. Voila: a great gift for Mom.

But also for you, of course. And did I mention it’s an affordable glass jewel set? Yes. Easy, pretty, affordable.

This is a good trend 🙂

Silver Leaf and Clear Glass Jewels

Just wanted to show you another example of why I like clear jewels. Combined with this silver leaf charm, the clear glass creates sparkle that’ll go with anything.

I’m going to try the silver leaf with some colors too – but clear glass, when it’s well faceted and nicely set, just looks good. And it’s easy. I’m all about simple and easy.

Oh! The pic links to clear jewels in my Etsy shop. Here’s a link to the silver and brass charms in my shop. Just so you can, you know, find them 🙂

Mommy and Me activewear – a GREAT gift for Mom

I ran across this shop totally by accident – and I LOVE it. Think about it – not only is activeweare useful, but your daughter will love wearing her Mommy-and-me clothes.

Mommy and Me activewear leggings from Malin Boutique on Etsy

This just strikes me as a terrific idea on so many levels. It’s a great gift for Mom – from her daughter (okay, an older daughter) – or from grandma – or from her Significant Other. (It doesn’t cost a lot, it’s going to fit – leggings are pretty forgiving if they’re anywhere near the right size…) – and it’s something she can share with Her Kid. These are all important concepts!

I found them at Malin Boutique on Etsy. It’s a new(ish) shop that definitely needs to be explored and encouraged.

Cute activewear – and stuff you can share with your daughter. This is a win!

P.S. Plus – ACTIVEwear. Which encourages Mom and Daughter to get active, to move, to share. To do physically active stuff. Double win!

P.P.S Okay, this is even better! The lovely ladies in the pic above have a Mommy and Daughter workout video over on YouTube – check it out, it is inspiring!

Vintage kimono – a gift for Mom

You know, if you’re trying to find something fabulous (and also affordable, and unique, and hey even vintage!) as a gift for your Mom – you are SO in luck. This lovely kimono would be a great robe, jacket, dress, or toss-over-jeans-cardigan-fabulousness for her.

Because moms like to look good too.

vintage pink kimono .... a gift for mom

So the big question is… a gift for Mom, or for you? This is not an easy one.

But is this not lovely? I would wear it as a dress. Or over jeans. Or, hey, even as a robe except then I would get paint and dirt and dust and dog hair all over it, and I might want to save it for a little more specialness than that.

But why not for Mom? She deserves something a little more fun than, what, an apron? You weren’t going to get her an apron, were you? Or a vase of flowers from the grocery store because you forgot to get something?

No. Show her how special you think she is (and hey, the bonus is, she’llknow how special you are.) This wonderful garment would be a fabulous gift. No worries about “will it fit”. And it’s silk, which is always classy (and what many people don’t know is that it is super washable, too.) And the colors? Beautiful.

I found it at Shudder Emporium, a vintage boutique on Etsy with clothing and accessories and Oddities.

You are going to have so much fun over there. Go peek. And if the kimono is gone when you get there, let her know that if she should happen to find more, well, that would be good too. But seriously: such great items, and great prices too? This is a Find!

Clear glass jewels necklace

Clear glass can be simple and stunning – it has a lot more “presence” than you might think. I had taken this pic recently, just as a test to see how my mannequin “model” might work for necklace pics. Then a customer wanted to get a guesstimated idea to see how her 18mm x 13mm oval jewels might work as a necklace.

The model (mannequin) here is close to life size. A little smaller (and slimmer, because everybody must be a size 2, of course)(pffft!) – but still, it gives an idea.

Clear jewels are just too much fun 😉

Crystal Rhinestone Oval Jewels

When in doubt, go with the classics. I’ve recently restocked this size and shape – 14mm x 10mm crystal oval rhinestone jewels. Just over 5/8″ long – delicate and pretty.

crystal 14x10mm oval jewels in my Etsy shop

This “mid-size” oval just works, yknow? They’re large enough to be noticed – but not heavy or in-your-face. They’re actually wonderful pendants. They’re great for earrings. I do have two-ring settings available as well, so you can use them for links in your necklaces or bracelets.

and, I mean – when you don’t know what color to wear, or you want the reflected light to flatter your face? Crystal, faceted jewels. Tiny little bits of sparkle. Girly and gorgeous. Why do you think diamonds are so popular?

These don’t cost quite so much 😉 (Okay, compared to diamonds, these cost practically nothing.)

They look good. They’re easy to use. This is a win.
