And this is another example of how you can easily combine brass charms – in this case, cute little golden brass acorn charms – with glass jewels. Easy peasy – a DIY earring design idea that you can use, or adapt, or add your own special creative touch 🙂
I these these are really cute just “as is” – but I specially like them because they’re small(ish) and lightweight and would be so comfy.
And pretty, and affordable. Don’t want to forget that part 🙂
The “topaz teardrops” in the title are actually the color known as “light colorado topaz” – it’s a gentle golden tan. I just wanted to show another example of how well these brass filigree flowers work, when paired with rhinestone teardrops, to make a fabulous pair of earrings!
These would totally work year-round. Imagine with your fave swimsuit! Or on New Year’s Eve. Or anywhere in between.
Easy to make – just add jump rings and earwires. Or make them more intricate in your own special design. This is the way DIY jewelry is supposed to work: simple to create, affordable – and beautiful 🙂
Rhinestone teardrop jewels, and brass filigree charms or connectors – these are two of the most popular jewelry components today. Combine them and you’ve got some lovely, easy to make, DIY jewelry 🙂
Take a look at this sample jewelry design idea:
Of course this basic idea can be adapted in all sorts of ways. Customize with birthstone color glass jewels (inexpensive but gorgeous!) Or change the filigree connectors for a different style or color. The thing is, you can make it totally your design – and still have easy to make, inexpensive DIY earrings or pendants.
Just in time for Christmas gifts!
Just a quick note this morning, to wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving – I hope you’re spending it with family and friends – people who make you happy.
Don’t work too hard in the kitchen – share the chores if you can. People are more important than fancy dishes 🙂
And just because, a little reminder that when it’s Thanksgiving, party season isn’t far behind! And you can always save money when you do it yourself – with sparkling glass and rhinestone gems for gifts, for yourself, for pretty bling to wear anytime 🙂
End of commercial – back to your regularly scheduled fun Thanksgiving!
There’s still time to get some pretty golden topaz rhinestones for your November birthday gifts (well if you’re in the U.S. anyway… it’d be a bit of a stretch for overseas). And using the birthstone color is a simple, pretty way to personalize your jewelry gifts!
Yes, it seems almost too good to be true – add leverbacks or french earwires and your DIY earrings are ready! (And if you need clip-on earring components just let me know, we can do that).
You can fuss some other time, and spend a lot more money. But you don’t need to. Make a pretty pendant necklace or personalized earrings for your gift-ee. She’ll love them 🙂
Sometimes, this is what it’s all about. Lovely vintage glass, present rhinestone jewels in silver or brass settings. Yes, you can get them in two-ring connector or link settings, or “no-ring” settings so you can make button earrings. And those are great. But this style? Add earwires and you’re good to go.
The’re great for Christmas gifts – or parties. Or just because you like red 🙂
Yes, my blog is called Vintage Glass Jewels – I was so thrilled when I started finding true vintage beads and stones! But then I realized I couldn’t maintain a steady, reliable supply, not all the time – so I started buying classic-but-NEW rhinestones. And they’re gorgeous and I love them. So now it’s like a treat, when I can resupply my true vintage stones. Like these gorgeous amethyst glass oval jewels 🙂
Aren’t they terrific? For brides and bridesmaids – for Christmas gifts – for yourself. They’re faceted oval rhinestones, and so easy to use! And for just one day they’re my BOGO Deal of the Day. Buy one pair, get another pair free – or choose any other jewels from my Weekend Jewelry online jewelry suppliies shop (equal or lesser value) – and yes, that second pair is free. Just for one day, October 25, 2017.
No rain checks – it’s just While supplies last!
A customer recently requested this unusual combination of colors – and I hope my pics have conveyed a little bit of the beauty, because they looked fabulous together! Vivid red and orange (hyacinth orange, to use the exact rhinestone name) aren’t usually used together, so that’s fine. But sometimes we like doing the unexpected, you know what I mean?
Of course what’s wonderful about these “multi stone” or “duo” settings is that you can choose the colors you like best. Tiny crystal rhinestones are gorgeous with the red teardrops. Or use emerald green and get ready for Christmas 🙂
“Choose your color” is the theme here. Just don’t worry about trying new combos!
Because vitrail or rainbow glass gems are BEAUTIFUL, and I got a good deal this time (hope I can next time too, but no promises!) So: a new Deal of the Day, Buy One Get One Free (equal or lesser value and all that):
For October 12, 2017, all day, one day only, no rain checks (etc etc, you know the drill) – buy any vitrail jewels and get another pendant or pair free, equal or lesser value, you know how it is. Wonderful gifts for mom, DIY jewelry designs (add findings and you’re done) – you will love these!
I think peach is one of the most underrated colors. It’s not bold and bright. It’s quieter than that. But it’s always feminine, always flattering, and for most skin tones, super easy to wear. I’ve got some lovely rhinestones and glass beads in coordinating shades of peach – and for tomorrow they’re featured as a new Deal of the Day 🙂
So for one day only – buy any peach jewels in my shop, and you get a second pair (or pendant) – equal or lesser value, please – for free. Tell me what you want your freebie to be – and it’s yours. No rain checks, and only for one day, October 10, 2017. So… don’t wait 🙂
(Do check back though, cause I’m doing more Deals of the Day and they really are pretty fabulous!)
