This is a really classic combination of faceted stones – sparkling crystal and faceted jet black stones. You could wear these earrings any time of year – and any time of day. But specially for evening chic!
Wear them to show off a summer tan – wear them for Christmas. And did I mention New Year’s? Absolutely!
Black is always in style. Crystal sparkle, even more, and when the crystal is near your face, everything is just a bit brighter. This is of the good 🙂
You really can’t go wrong! Easy, affordable DIY earrings – great for you – great for gifts!
You know how I mentioned I was going to get in some more blue zircon glass jewels? Well here ya go 🙂

I just got the pendants – and wanted to show you a few of the other blue zircon rhinestone jewels I have in my shop right now. Love the color!
and I decided the BOGO sale ought to go on a little longer. Call it an introductory special 🙂 So until midnight on September 16, 2018, you buy blue zircon glass jewels in my shop – you get a freebie. Just let me know which one you want as an equal-or-lesser-value freebie!
(Can you say “early and affordable Christmas gift shopping ideas”? Yes!)
Woo hoo! I’ve just gotten in some gorgeous new blue zircon, cushion cut octagon rhinestones. These are wonderful earring drops, mid-size pendants (classic traditional shape to nestle at the base of the throat) – or glass connectors, when you use two-ring settings.
I’ll be posting some more blue zircon glass gems soon. The color is such a gorgeous dark teal blue – lovely for fall, and flattering for just about everybody. And right now, I’m offering an introductory BOGO sale! Buy one pair, get one free (and you can dicker for another jewel for your freebie if you want).
From today through September 12, 2018 at midnight, the BOGO sale is good – while supplies last anyway – so don’t wait!
Hint: these make wonderful (easy, affordable) Christmas gifts, too. Just saying 🙂
I’ve been waiting on these and woo hoo, just got in some new emerald green glass gems in a darling, tiny 8mm size – that’s approximately 1/4″ in diameter. These are adorable for earring drops, glass connectors, and even tiny pendants – and the faceting is just lovely!
So to celebrate that the new packet has finally arrived, I’m having a BOGO sale! Buy one pair, you get the second pair free. You can select whichever settings you prefer – for each pair. Just let me know your preference when you order!
The sale lasts from August 29, 2018 to midnight on September 3, 2018 – so anytime this Labor Day weekend you get a super sale price!
Just got in new peach rhinestones – only have one pic so far but there will be more coming. It’s a darling color!
These tiny peach stones are lovely in three-jewel connectors as shown – or anyplace we use a tiny (20ss, 4mm) faceted rhinestone. And this week (through August 10, 2018 at midnight) – any glass beads with two jewels (or three!) that you purchase with peach rhinestones? You can request a second pair for free 🙂
I figure that’s a nice way to introduce a new color – a BOGO freebie – and honestly? These are just lovely! (Did you say your mom’s birthday is coming up? Yes, you’re getting a good idea!)
Okay, I have to admit – “fall 2018” colors means… Colors 🙂 I love how marketers talk about trending colors (predicting them I mean), and how this color or that color will be Hot next season.
Well maybe. Personally, I think colors that look good *on you* are the colors that are going to trend for you. Marketers won’t make money off that prediction. But the colors that are in fashion this season, or next season, or any season – are the ones you like!
So I just got in some restocks and fresh supplies of gorgeous rivoli-faceted round glass jewels – and I think they’re going to Trend just fine 🙂
And from August 1, 2018 through midnight on August 4, 2018, when you buy one pair, you get one pair free 🙂 (You have to mention this post when you order, to get the freebie!)
Great glass beads – a BOGO sale – sparkling color – you’ll love it!
This week only! Buy one pair of montana sapphire (navy blue) glass jewels from my shop, and you can choose a second pair for free!

Yes you read that right! From July 23, 2018, through midnight on July 28, 2018, you get a free pair of jewels (equal or lesser value, you know how that works) whenever you buy a pair of montana sapphire jewels.
And you get to choose your freebie. Because that’s always fun 😉
So there are a couple reasons I think this DIY earring design idea is special. For one thing, deep fuschia pink and crystal? Fuschia doesn’t always work – but when it does, it really does. And what color isn’t even better paired with sparkle?
And the combination of textures here – the smooth teardrops paired with the faceted ovals – adds a touch of complexity (while still being quick and easy to do).
A (super) added plus – the fuschia pears are vintage. They’re from the 1950s I think – the original packaging has the importer’s telephone number – and there is no area code, it predates that. So we’re going back a ways 🙂
And these are great. Used “as is” or with the faceted crystal ovals, or with your own special combo, you’re going to have a terrific pair of DIY earrings!
I recently got in some new blue zircon rhinestone octagons in petite 10mm x 8mm size. These are perfect for glass connectors in two-ring prong settings – they’re also adorable small pendants and earring drops. And this gives you a size comparison for the three sizes I have in stock.
Partly the pic just helps to show scale. How big IS the 18x13mm size compared to the 10x8mm? Well you can see that here. You can also play with ideas, of combining the small stones with one larger centerpiece, for example…. or use all three sizes in a fantastic pendant or pair of earrings… or, well, you get the idea. Play with jewelry design ideas! Your imagination is free – and the stones are pretty inexpensive too 🙂
If you’re making a pair of earrings for a gift (or for sale) it’s really popular to personalize those earrings. A simple (and pretty!) way to do that is to incorporate birthstone colors into the earring design. Use the giftee’s birthstone color, or maybe combine the colors of her kids’ birthdays, or maybe his-and-her colors – for example, crystal for the April birthday girl, and emerald green to represent the guy’s May birthday – combine those two colors in her earrings!
That’s just one idea – there are so many combinations and colors that are beautiful together – and meaningful for the person who will be wearing the earrings 🙂
I’m going to show some more ideas using birthstone colors – sometimes it helps to see color combos, and seeing one design or style can sometimes help spark a gazillion new ideas. Let’s have fun with this!
