These are actually one of my favorite “duo” jewel combinations. They aren’t “summery”, they aren’t just for winter – they are classic and year round and did I mention, they go with practically every color?
Very useful when you just need to grab some earrings, put them on, and head out the door. And when you want something that’ll go with blue jeans or LBD.
And just in case you’re looking for that perfect gift for mom, that you can afford, that she’ll love? Problem solved: these will totally work!
Recently we’ve been talking about delicate spring colors and bridal jewels, which all are wonderful. But I did want to point out that rich color, deep sapphire blue for example, looks just fabulous all year round. Including in springtime. Sapphire blue (and aqua, as shown here) is for bridesmaids, too. And hey, for brides, if you’re not a clear-crystal-diamond traditionalist.
In other words, when you make your own jewelry, you can make just what you want! Including glass teardrops, rhinestone jewels, and stunning combos of colors in your favorite style and shades. That’s what DIY is all about.
Well, that and getting what you want, when you want it, and not even having to spend a lot of money. How cool is that?
And just because we’ve been talking about brides, this morning I’m highlighting some pretty jewels that are wonderful for a bridesmaid, maid of honor, and anyone else who wants to wear some pretty jewelry to a wedding 🙂
And yes there’s a new BOGO sale – buy one pair, get one pair free 🙂 Choose any of the pink glass gems you find in my shop (see link above), and pick your second PINK item of equal or lesser value, for free. Oh – this offer is good from Sunday, March 25, through midnight on Tuesday, March 27. So don’t wait!
Your bridesmaids will love you!
I’ve just restocked one of my favorite rhinestone (glass) jewels – the mid size, sparkling crystal teardrops shown below. I love these. They have high quality facets, terrific sparkle, and – this is important to me! – they’re super comfortable. Big enough to add shine and sparkle – but still petite(ish). And they are a best seller – I think a lot of women agree with me here 🙂
And since I just got in a new packet, I’m offering a limited time BOGO sale – buy one pair of these rhinestone earrings or pendant jewels – and get another pair free. And you can substitute any other item in my shop for your second pair, as long as it is equal or lesser value. You know the drill 🙂
Good for only a few days, so don’t wait too long! From Friday, March 23, 2018 through Monday, March 26, 2018 (at midnight), buy one pair, get one pair free!
I’m loving sheer glass jewels more than ever these days. The colors are a bit softer, but vivid – and they shine through the settings beautifully. They don’t need the harder edge that foil backing gives the facets. Yes there are times we want that strong sparkle – but you know? Sometimes pure color just really works 🙂
Aren’t they pretty? You don’t need to fuss a lot with these. Add basic findings – earwires, or chain and clasp – and you’ve got a fabulous piece of jewelry. You don’t have to spend a lot of money – and your DIY jewelry will look fabulous 🙂
Here’s a great example of how a classic design can make a beautiful piece of jewelry. Yes, it’s fun and often gorgeous to use intricate, complex designs. But clean-lined simplicity works beautifully too!
See what I mean? When the centerpiece – your focal jewel – is as pretty as this one, you don’t need to fuss. This doesn’t take a lot of work, and you don’t have to spend tons of money. Pick the color(s) you like best, use a simple chain, and voila: a beautiful necklace. That’s one of the joys of do it yourself jewelry!
Springtime and Easter are celebrations we love! Around here, Easter is all about spending time with family and friends, going to church, hosting family dinners – and yes, maybe showing off some new spring clothes. And jewelry. And if that new jewelry is pretty, and doesn’t cost a lot, that’s a good thing too 🙂
These delicate “duo” earrings are wonderful for Easter!

Another fun thing about these earring jewels is that you can choose the color of that tiny stone at the top of the setting – so you can really customize them to match your outfit. Just a little added plus 🙂
PS Did I mention? The peridot glass octagons are vintage rhinestones – to me that makes them even more special!
Okay, these are two good things: a pretty earring design idea using white bridal jewels. And, a free gift with purchase. What’s not to love?
The bridal jewels are traditional – with a twist. They are classic modern shapes (that are also pretty, and flattering) – but the white teardrops shown here were made in post-war Japan! That’s post World War II Japan – we’re going back a ways! And they’re in wonderful shape. The “white opal” glass octagons shown here aren’t quite as old – they’re from the late 1950s. So – “something old” here – but so fresh and pretty!
And! The “free gift with purchase” thing? Buy these components for your wedding jewels (or for a bride you know, or a bridal customer) – and you get a free gift of another pair of white glass jewels, your choice (subject to availiability). This is a limited time offer (till May 1, 2018) so you probably won’t want to wait too long!
Bridal jewels that are gorgeous – and affordable. And a free gift. Like I said – what’s not to love?
I’m just loving the combo of delicate colors with crystal rhinestone jewels – they look like Spring to me, and they’re so easy to wear – flattering and girly. See what you think of this DIY earring design idea!
The jewels are small(ish), so this combo is lightweight and comfortable. I sketched it with golden settings but of course silver (silver plated brass settings, made in the USA, and they’re real quality) would work too. I’m just liking the golden brass color for Springtime….
Light amethyst purple, sparkling crystal, and a touch of golden brass. Doesn’t that sound like a pretty combo? Take the idea and run with it – make it your own – that’s what DIY is all about 🙂
(And mention this blog post if you go to buy these components – you’ll get an extra gift!)
This really is a classic design – adapted for the gorgeous colors and strong shapes of these rhinestone octagon jewels. You don’t need a lot of fuss – you do need components that will carry your design beautifully.
Like these! The style is simple – strong faceted glass gems, in a repeated design. But the color and size of these jewels make it much more than “minimalist”. And of course you can take this idea and run with it.
That’s what DIY jewelry is all about – your own creative design, affordable components, personalized colors and style. And making exactly what you want!
