I couldn’t resist – I got sidetracked when I found these wonderful vintage finds. THIS is why I love vintage fashion!
Now that is just a classic. White linen, it’ll look good forever (and you can bleach it, gently!) Belt it, wear it loose, wear it over a bathing suit or with black velvet. Totally a classic.
And these!
I mean, talk about fun shoes – purple, and suede, and ballet flats? Love them. Comfy and adorable.
These are from one of my favorite vintage shops on Etsy, Look Again Vintage. Even if these goodies are gone when you read this (and yeah, somebody will grab them) there are always great finds over there.
So cool. So fun. And did I mention affordable? I do love vintage!
Since I had emerald on my mind – Emerald being Pantone’s “Color of the Year for 2013” and all (see my blog post here) well, then I needed to find a pretty party dress. Started looking around at Etsy – vintage dresses, of course, the very best kind – and look what I found!

and

I found both of these yummy dresses at Foxy Brit Vintage – she’s actually in the Pacific Northwest USA – and she’s got lots and lots of reasonbly-priced goodies to check out.
Emerald – party dresses – great values – it’s definitely time to go shopping 🙂
Because I had recently gotten in some fuschia pink rhinestone jewels, I wanted to find a party dress to match. Of course Etsy is my favorite place to shop – and this gorgeous dress really caught my eye!

It’s available at Apple Branches Vintage on Etsy. If the dress is gone when you go look, believe me you’ll find more goodies there. Diana, who runs the shop, is a professional photographer – and it shows. Not only are her pictures beautiful (and they are!) but you can really *see* the clothing, which is so important for online purchases.
She has some wonderful vintage fashion items – go find a special party dress for yourself!
I was looking for something totally different at the time, but I saw this beautiful gown – vintage of course – and just had to share.

I love this dress – it’s festive, it’s flattering, it’s affordable – it offers a hint of decolletage without being too heavy handed – it’s just a wonderful dress! And that color is beyond gorgeous.
And the shop, WTF Vintage Womens on Etsy has lots of other goodies on offer.
You’ll love it – check it out!
PS Okay, I have to say it – Kate S., who runs this Etsy shop, lives across the pond. I bet she didn’t even know about WTF, that’s an American colloquialism. Now stop it. It’s a stunning dress and you will love her shop.
I couldn’t resist, I had to go visit Look Again Vintage on Etsy again. Every time I go over there I find some goodies to fall in love with.
I mean, look at these!

Fabulous Red Blazer from Look Again Vintage
Think how that would jazz up your winter wardrobe! Take any neutral – black, gray, navy, brown, winter white – and add this pop of red. It looks great, it has good detailing, it’s major affordable, and did I mention RED? Love love love.

Open-toe, high heeled tan pumps from Look Again Vintage
And did I mention shoes? How important good shoes are? These Garolini open-toed pumps fit my favorite criteria. They’re high heels but not so extreme that they’re guaranteed to be painful – and I’ve worn Garolinis before; they’re well made and usually *more* comfortable than other brands. And, they’re “camel tan” color – which in my book translates as almost “nude” – which means (this is the important part) that unless you are very very pale or very very dark skinned, these are going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of flesh color – and wearing these, your legs just got looking longer.
Plus they look good all year round. Totally.
So right here I’ve highlighted two fabulous finds – and there many many more in this shop. If the shoes are gone, I’m sorry (if they were my size they’d be gone already!) Don’t worry though – she has a great eye for finding deals and quality and it is SO worth visiting.
Look Again Vintage – go visit. Asap.
You’ll thank me!
You know, it is so amazing, the great vintage fashion – strike that: the great FASHION – you can find online, and yes, especially at Etsy when you start looking.
You need to find a great party dress? You could not do better than this one:

from JD Bok on Etsy
Yes, this is just an example. But it’s a great one. It looks terrific. It’s a great price. You’re not going to see it everywhere else this season. And if it’s gone when you go look, well, they have lots of other goodies.
Vintage shopping? THE way to shop. JD Bok – totally worth checking out.
Because I’m getting in the mood for Fall – fresh air and new outfits (even if they’re thrifted or vintage, they’re new to me). Don’t get me wrong – I love summer. But Fall Is terrific!
And look what goodies I’ve been finding:

This red print peplum dress – from Baby Bird Vintage on Etsy – is a great summer-into-fall transition dress. And it’s affordable, and flattering, and cute. Love it!
and

I love this gown – it’s jersey so it’ll never wrinkle, it’s super affordable, and it’s a great color 🙂 Add a lacy shawl and some bling and wear it to Homecoming or for a Christmas party! Yes, it’s from Baby Bird Vintage on Etsy
and this!

You will wear this Baby Bird Vintage black velvet blazer all the time. Push up the sleeves, throw on a tee or tank and a pair of jeans and you can go to work – or out with the girls – or a club. I’m telling you, all the time!
And these are only a small portion of the cool finds she’s got in her shop – if these are gone when you check, there WILL be more. These are wearable, comfortable – affordable – clothes you can fit seamlessly into your wardrobe. Check out her shop, you’ll thank me!
And then, of course, one must have shoes! I draw your attention to the wonderful vintage party dress I found yesterday (see the previous post). And then I saw These Shoes:
They’re available at a lovely vintage shoe shop on Etsy called “The Neon Ribbon by Tiffzilla”. She has beautiful shoes there – many of them unworn! You absolutely must check it out.
Because if not these navy pumps – why then other vintage pumps of wonderful quality and delectable prices! Go. Hurry 🙂
Something got me in the mood lately – and I’ve started looking around for some wonderful party dresses for the holidays… vintage of course! I love that I’m not going to see my dress on a dozen other people at the party – and vintage glam doesn’t hurt, either 🙂
For instance, this lovely dress from Blue Velvet Vintage caught my eye:
It’s beautiful – and unusual – and look at the detailing. The sleeves are sexy! The hem is flattering, especially with a pump. Though I think I’d add a very strappy navy or black sandal rather than the shoes the model is wearing. Add some sparkly dangling earrings, and this dress could take you, well, anywhere 🙂
I just found a wonderful vintage fashion blog, Glamourdaze, “An Archive of Vintage Fashion and Beauty”.

She’s got some wonderful pages there, talking about decades of fashion from the 1900s through the 1950s – here’s one of my favorites: Vintage Fashion – the 1930s.
Check out her Vintage Fashion Store and her Youtube link to Vintage Fashion in Films”.
Go have fun – and may I say, Yum!
