Sparkling crystal DIY necklace – Happy New Year!

The sparkling, crystal clear glass stones shown here in this DIY necklace are just so appropriate for the celebration of a new year!

These stones aren’t large – the diamond shape is 10mm x 10mm – that’s about 3/8″. The crystal octagon is 18mm x 13mm, or approximately 3/4″ x 1/2″. But they’re beautifully faceted, and if there’s any light in the room, these will sparkle!

Even if the light is candlelight on New Year’s Eve! Or any day of 2026 when you want to add a bit of fun, and sparkle, and maybe celebration. Let’s have a great New Year!

P.S. And yes, you’ve thought of this too – this necklace would be fabulous for a bride!

Beautiful faceted glass pears – and a sale!

Pears, or pear-shaped-teardrops, are absolutely the most popular faceted glass stones in my jewelry supplies shop. I do have them in several sizes, from 13x8mm faceted jewels that are wonderful for slender, delicate earring components or connector links, and in larger sizes – up to pendant-sized 25x18mm. So you can find the size – or sizes – that work best for your DIY jewelry creation 🙂

The pear jewels showing above are medium-size. At 14mm x 10mm, they’re definitely large enough for gorgeous earrings (or delicate pendants) – but they’re also small enough to be super comfy! And if you create a design that uses multiples, well that’s fabulous too!

And hey, to make that even easier, from today through Monday, August 17, 2025 – for every pair of 14x10mm teardrops you buy, get one pair free! Buy one – get one free. Just mention this blog post when you order and let me know what free pair you want.

And have fun creating your jewelry!

Crystal clear pear shaped teardrops

The crystal teardrops shown here are one of the most versatile glass gems you can wear! When in doubt – crystal always goes with your outfit. It looks good day or night. And these are a modest size, 14mm x 10mm – so they’re lightweight and comfy to wear all day. Or night 🙂

Of course I have many more teardrops in my shop. And they are the most popular shape for my customers. Feminine, interesting, flattering. Great for gifts, or to make jewelry for sale, or DIY jewelry for yourself. I think you’ll love them!

P.S. Of course these are wonderful for bridal and wedding jewelry. But you already thought of that!

Clear glass gems – modest size, great sparkle!

I’ve featured clear glass pear or teardrop stones before but I don’t think I’ve shown off the cool faceting on these pears! And I love the size – these are 14mm x 10mm (I know, you saw that on the pic) – so if you like small(ish) lightweight earrings, these really work. And even at the small size, they still sparkle and add a bit of light 🙂

People have actually been grabbing them up since I listed them in my shop, so if you don’t see them, send me a note – I always keep some stashed!

Crystal cushion cut earrings – with chain

This is a classic style: crystal – glass gems with lovely faceting – in a beautiful pair of earrings. Enhance the gems, as shown here, with silver chain. Great movement, lovely sparkle, and the earrings are still lightweight!

Of course fashion changes every season, and we’re always looking for new styles. But sometimes it’s just smart to buy – or create! – a pair of earrings that look good today, with practically every style you can imagine. And that will look fresh and new and beautiful next year, and the year after that.

These earrings absolutely meet those criteria! You could wear these with a tank top and blue jeans (come on, you know you pictured that already!) You could wear them to work with a black dress.

You could wear them at your wedding (and isn’t that an irresistible picture!)

Do it yourself jewelry – to make, to wear, to sell. Just the way you want it!

Diamond glass stones – the birthstone color for April – a BOGO sale!

I know, “diamond” isn’t exactly a color! But diamonds are the birthstone for April. And diamonds are fabulous of course. But hey, sometimes (lots of times) our budgets don’t necessarily include expensive gemstones. So – faceted glass “diamonds”, right?

The pic here shows just some of the faceted crystal “diamond” stones available in my shop right now. I’m probably biased, but I think these are beautiful. Since I’m not rich – I definitely prefer faceted glass “gemstones”. I think a lot of us feel that way!

And just to make these even more attractive – right now these are on sale! Buy one, get one free – one pair, or one pendant… all you have to do when you order, is tell me what freebie you want! This offer is only until Friday, March 14, 2025, and limited to supplies I have on hand – so you probably don’t want to wait.

P.S. You might want to keep in mind that crystal diamonds are fabulous for bridal and wedding jewelry. But you already thought of that!

Crystal Bridal Wedding Jewels

You want your wedding jewelry to be special! Very likely the image you have of your bridal earrings will be sparkling crystal. If you have diamond gemstone earrings of course they would be beautiful wedding earrings 🙂 But if you have a smaller budget – like me, like most of us I think – sparkling faceted crystal jewelry is going to be wonderful. And much more affordable!

The earring jewels featured in this pic are beautifully faceted, clear crystal rhinestone (glass) gems. They’re lovely, and not only will they be perfect for bridal earrings, they’re also affordable!

And you will feel – and look – beautiful in them!

Crystal Oval Glass Gems – Faceted Glass ‘Diamonds’

You remember we were talking several days ago about diamonds being the birthstone for April. Well of course diamonds are gorgeous – but gemstone diamonds also cost a fortune. Faceted crystal glass “diamonds” are also sparkling, flattering and lovely – and they don’t cost a lot. Take a look at these pretties!

These jewels make a great pendant-and-earrings set “as is”. They really don’t need a lot of embellishment! Slip the larger oval onto a chain with a strong jump ring and your necklace is ready. Add earwires to the medium-size (14x10mm) ovals, and you have fabulous matching earrings. Or decorate them with the beads, chains, and gems you like best. You know: make this idea your own!

P.S. If you want gorgeous, affordable, and EASY jewels for your wedding? These are wonderful bridal jewels!

Diamonds – the birthstone for April

Diamonds are the birthstone for April. Now if you’re in the market for real diamonds, more power to you and I wish you the joy of shopping! But if you like the sparkle and clarity of diamonds – on a little lower budget (okay a MUCH lower budget) I think you’ll like crystal or glass diamonds.

Take a peek at some of the crystal “diamond” stones available in my shop right now:

Of course this pic only shows a few of the faceted crystal gems I have available, but I specially wanted to show these because you can customize them. The large crystal in each setting is the diamond-like “clear crystal”. The small round stones at the top of each setting can be changed to the color of your choice. So – personalize or customize these!

Crystal Oval Necklace – a great jewelry design

This oval crystal necklace is a classic. It’s a simple design – find a beautiful faceted oval glass gem, add a sturdy jump ring to the loop at the top of the setting, and slide the oval pendant on a chain.

And that’s it! Of course you need to use a beautiful pendant – you want something that will be a star on its own, without needing a lot of embellishment. The chain helps too – in this case, I used simple plated cable chain but I used two strands. It adds something extra without a lot of work.

Really I wanted to illustrate that good design – and beautiful jewelry – doesn’t have to be time consuming, or fussy. Simple and classic works.

Think how beautiful this necklace would be on a bride! (And you know, whether it’s a gift to the bride, or she makes her own jewelry, she isn’t going to mind saving some money!)
