Glass octagons in multi-stone settings…customize these!

These settings have two glass gems – the octagons are 10x8mm, and the small round stones are about 4mm. The total length of the settings is just 18mm, or 3/4″. Not huge – they’re almost delicate. But they have a lot of sparkle in spite of being small – and are especially wonderful for earrings.

What’s even better about these multi-stone settings is that you pick the color of the tiny round stone. So you can customize these! Chooes your bridesmaid colors, or your daughter’s birthstone and favorite color. Or, well, you get the idea!

And if you click on the pic above you’ll see more color combos I have in this style – and actually there are some I haven’t listed yet. So if there’s a particular color octagon you’re looking for and don’t see it, drop me a note and ask, I probably have some!

Handset aqua glass stones for DIY jewelry!

Just thought I’d show off a few more aqua faceted glass gems that are available in my jewelry supplies shop. Yes, there are many more shapes and sizes available (you knew that!) This is just one idea I wanted to share, about some jewelry designs we can make with aqua stones. For example…

These stones – 8mm round, 10mm round, and 18x13mm pears – can easily be linked with sturdy jump rings to make gorgeous dangling earrings, or a slender pendant, or (possibly my favorite) – each end of a lariat necklace that you can make any length you want.

Yes, aqua is the birthstone color for March – but more to the point, these glass stones are lovely – and affordable!

Aqua Glass Stones – the birthstone color for March!

Here’s a new collage of some of the aqua blue glass stones I have in my shop right now. I think a lot of people love aqua anyway – it’s flattering on every skin tone, it looks good year round, and it has enough “presence” to carry a piece of jewelry almost on the color alone!

It also just useful to remember that aquamarine blue is the birthstone color for March. So if you want to make some special jewelry for your bff, or your mom, or yourself (ahem) you know you have the “birth month appropriate” color. Yeah, I know, that’s arbitrary, somebody made up the birthstone color stuff – but we live in the world, yknow? And it’s a gorgeous color!

Round Glass Gems – DIY Earrings

I love earrings – you probably figured that out! And I love “do it yourself” earrings that look great – and don’t take a lot of money and time. Or for that matter, not a lot of skill. Earrings don’t have to be hard to make! Case in point:

You could take this idea and make lots of variations. Look at your own jewelry supplies, the colors you already have. Use round stones like these gems, or other round beads or jewels you have. Add large jump rings. Voila! Make your own earrings to gift as gifts, or for yourself.

Don’t spend a lot of money. Make this idea your own – you’ll love the earrings!

Red glass hearts for Valentine’s Day gifts

Of course I had to feature the gorgeous faceted red heart jewels I have in my shop right now. I haven’t had this gorgeous, vivid color in a while and I was so happy to find them!

I do have other colors – sheer sapphire blue, spring peach, deep rose pink (and clear hearts that are surprisingly sparkly!) But red is just *the* color FOR Valentine’s, yknow? And there’s still time to get these before Valentine’s Day. All you need to do is add earwires or chain and your jewelry can be ready to gift! (If you need those too, let me know).

Easy and lovely Valentine’s Day jewelry – this is what DYI is all about!

Amethyst Glass Stones for February gifts!

Okay, I’ll admit it – I wanted to show off more amethyst glass gems I have available in my shop. Yes, I’m awfully fond of amethyst – I’ve said that before. It’s very wearable, and somehow purple gems (manmade, glass, or ‘natural’) are just kind of special, yknow? Maybe we still think of royalty from a long long time ago….

The stones shown here are called “cushion cut” – a classic octagon with rounded corners. They’re 12mm x 12mm, about 1/2″, so they’re large enough to have real presence but they’re still super lightweight. In this design, I added some silvertone chain – nothing expensive – but you know, these look super good! And these earrings would make a great gift, if you were thinking of that 🙂

You know that amethyst is the birthstone color for February – yes, there’s still time to get supplies and make these – and gift them to your bestie! (Or yourself, of course…!)

Jewelry Design Idea with Amethyst Glass Gems

I love amethyst. Yes the real gemstones are lovely – but you know, my budget isn’t always prepared for precious gemstones. But beautiful faceted glass gems? They are so afforable and definitely on my personal favorites list! Take a look at this jewelry design idea, just for example:

Yes, these are jewelry components available in my shop. I will add right up front that they will not be hard to find in many places, especially online. But I will also add that I try hard to offer excellent quality stones – I really focus on not sending the ones with scratches and nicks, and the colors are as close to reality as possible on my monitor (yes I know monitors vary, but we do what we can!) I try to send the best!

Actually I am thinking about adding a “scratch and dent” category for those stones that still look good but defintely are not “best”. If you have any opinions about that idea I’d love to hear them!

PS And you probably remember that amethyst purple is the birthstone color for February. Yes, there’s still time to make some fabulous jewelry gifts for your birthday girls!
