DIY Earrings for Christmas gifts :-)

Of course these earrings wouldn’t have to be (just) for Christmas. They look good and you’ll wear them anytime. But they feel more Christmas-y because of the vivid red glass jewels. You know I think using jewels in prong settings, and adding chain for movement and texture, is a fine way to make earrings 🙂

Just to show you what I mean:

Naturally you could use any color or shape glass jewels. It’s just that the red is so pretty – and appropriate – this time of year!

Do it yourself jewelry. Make Christmas gifts they’ll love. And save money. See, this is a great Christmas idea!

DIY Earrings – new combo :-)

Okay, first, these are not just “Christmas earrings” or pendants. Emerald green is one of the most flattering colors you can choose, especially if it’s for a gift and you don’t know the person’s favorite color. Emerald is easy to wear, it doesn’t have sallow or yellow undertones, which can be tricky. So when in doubt? Emerald, or maybe turquoise, are super choices. And we just happen to have both those colors in this DIY earring design idea 😉

You’ll notice I’m using one of my favorite “tricks” (it’s not really) – combining opaque glass cabochons (the vintage aqua ovals) with faceted sparkling glass – the emerald green octagons. It’s just another example of “everything doesn’t have to be matchy-matchy”. And by accident (I didn’t notice until I was actually taking the pics!) I have them in two different color settings – patina brass for the emerald, and golden raw brass for the ovals.

You’re not supposed to do that – combine different color settings and all. Well darn. Why not try it?

Christmas Earring ideas :-)

Really I was just playing with stones on my worktable, and getting a few new pics. Then I happened to place these together – and love them! Christmas colors of vivid red and emerald green, and a combination of the opaque smooth jewels and faceted emerald rounds – these totally work and they’re just so, well, so Christmas!

And if you order the cherry red ovals, you can send me a “note to seller” and request a pair of the emeralde green rounds – for free! Obviously it’s only while supplies last, and only for a few days – till midnight on October 30, 2020. But hey, what a cool Christmas earring idea!

Clear vintage glass hearts for pendants and earrings

These clear glass heart jewels are one of my very favorites – and I just got a new supply. These are vintage, so the supply isn’t endless – I was thrilled to get more! And the quality is terrific. Let’s just put it right out there – these are Christmas presents without having to do any work 🙂

And yes, these are wonderful for pendants and earrings year-round. And we haven’t even talked (yet) about how perfect they are for brides. But right now? Christmas is coming. Make it easy on yourself. Your besties, your relatives, your customers – they will all love these.

DIY Christmas earrings design idea

I meant to post this earlier and I think my brain went away or something. It’s a simple DIY earring design idea – with a bit of sparkle, and a bit of Christmas green – great for holiday jewelry!

Of course you can use your favorite colors, and play with different shapes too. The basic idea is that you can mix colors and shapes and create some very fun earrings!

And as always – saving money on your jewelry and making Christmas gifts is a great year-round idea 😉

New design for 2020 holiday earrings!

I have an easy earring design for your 2020 holiday earrings today – and if you check out this blog from time to time you’ll recognize two of my favorite elements.

I grabbed these from my worktable – sapphire teardrops in a medium 14x10mm size – and cable chains. The teardrops are inverted, so they point toward the chains. A tiny difference here that I’m going to use more often? Two different chain colors.

One of the main advantages to these multicolor chains is that once you wear jewelry with more than one color metal – every piece of jewelry you own that has metal, can be said to coordinate! No need to wear only silver or only gold. Plus it’s just fun.

Honestly, the different colors of the chains don’t show up as much as I’d like – I’m going to play with this some more. It’s such a useful design direction!

Black glass jewels – and a BOGO sale

You know I do these every so often – BOGO sales, buy-one-get-one-free sales. Of course it’s a bid to attract new customers – or give a special deal to customers who are checking my blog. It works for me either way. I like to remind my customers of some of the great deals they can get in my shop – and I want new customers to see, and find, the quality and value I try hard to maintain 🙂

And all of a sudden it’s Fall (temp dropped 30-40 degrees in the last 2 days!) and winter is coming. And holidays. And black is always hot, right?

black glass jewels available in my shop

I would bet each of us could use a new pair of black earrings – and that includes your besties, and mom, and you. So from now until midnight on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, when you order any black glass jewels in my shop (pair of jewels, or pendant) you get a second pair free. After you order, just leave a “Note to Seller” and tell me the freebie you want. Equal or lesser value and all that, and limited to supplies on hand. There, that’s the official stuff.

The fun stuff is new jewelry at a great price!

Emerald green teardrop jewels set…for Christmas gift ideas and more

I know it’s early to be thinking of Christmas, but this is a weird year. If you could find some affordable jewelry components that would make a lovely necklace and earrings set, and you could do it easily, and it could be personalized however you chose, and it would be a wonderful gift – that would be a good idea.

So I put together some sheer emerald pears and hey, here’s that necklace and earring jewels set!

Of course it would work any time of year, for yourself or for gifts. Or customers. But Christmas really is coming, and why not save yourself a little time and work and make something wonderful – and easy? That’s a win!

New necklace design idea – make it your own!

So here’s a necklace design idea I really like:

necklace design idea featuring opaque glass jewels in ovals and teardrop shapes

The style is classic, really – oval cabochons leading to a teardrop shaped centerpiece. But you can have so much fun, mixing colors, maybe styles, shapes, you name it! Take the idea – and make it yours…!

And whatever design and ideas you use, it’s great to make Christmas prezzies for your friends and loved ones – and you save money at the same time. Love that idea!

Vivid glass octagons – DIY earrings

You know one of the design ideas that I embrace is using different shapes, different textures, different materials? Well I hate to be totally consistent (predictable) – so this time I’m advocating using multiple jewels of the exact same shape and size:

These earrings are long enough – and large enough – to be noticed, but they aren’t heavy at all. And of course can be customized with whatever oolors you like best – or your customer loves – maybe the birthstone colors of her kids. That sort of customization is fun and kind of wonderful. And that personalization makes these DIY earrings a great gift idea (just saying!)

And the jewels here are different colors, so they’re not all matchy-matchy. That counts, right?
