This pretty earring design idea is another example of how you can combine two simple components into a great jewelry design 🙂 
Add earwires or posts, a sturdy jump ring, and your earrings will be ready to wear! I show two different color jewels here – using custom colors is a simple way to personalize your design. Easy, economical and pretty – this is the way it’s supposed to be 🙂 I just wanted to mention (okay, again) how easy it to make a gorgeous jewelry set – when you have coordinating or matching pendant and earring jewels. Yes, it’s “matchy” – but when you have carte blanche with your outfit, and maybe you got a little crazy with it, it’s good to have a single design motivation for your jewelry. Like these gorgeous rhinestone teardrops:  Truly, you don’t need to do a lot to jazz it up. Just a slender silver chain, and silver earwires or leverbacks. Of course you can do more – add layers, turn the earrings into chandeliers, create a cluster to go with the pendant. Those are wonderful options. But so is the simplicity of a great design – teardrop earrings and necklace that match. She’ll love it. You’ll love it. This is a win 🙂 The color known as “vitrail” is otherwise known as “Rainbow” – which is a wonderful and appropriate name for the variety of colors that sparkle in these lovely teardrop gems. And in this “duo” multi stone setting, you can customize the tiny stone that complements the teardrop 🙂  These really do work with a lot of different colors – which means if your outfit is mostly green, these will work. Mostly blue, or purple? These will work. Orange or pink? These will work. And if your new creation is perfect for a bride – well that’s kind of wonderful, isn’t it? Crystal jewelry is classic for brides, and this necklace features a large faceted oval crystal rhinestone combined with stainless steel cable chain. It’ll never tarnish (or need to be polished) – and as much as I love sterling silver, that’s a real plus, yknow?  Of course you will want to adapt this idea to your own creative style – and the individual tastes of your giftee, or customer. Personalized colors for your rhinestone? Check. Their choice of silver or gold or stainless, or perhaps antique bronze? Check. And there are countless permutations. The basic idea is a super one – strong gorgeous focal pendant, and you add the personal details. Don’t spend a lot, either. This is DIY the way you want it to work! Okay, clear glass jewels. Oops 🙂 (I get so used to using both terms when I’m talking with peers and customers, I tend to think “beads” as the overall category.) Anyway. I was really happy with this earring design idea – and as you can see, it’s made entirely with clear glass… rhinestone… stones. There, does that sound better?  Yes, I tried to get a good (read: flattering) pic of this design. And I used good lighting. But the sparkle in this pic isn’t just because of the lighting – I also tried to *not* intensify the shine. Clear glass, especially when it’s nicely faceted really does sparkle. It’s not a “loud” sparkle, but it shines! And hey, clear glass: it goes with everything. And it flatters a bridal gown without being too bold. It’s just a nice trick to remember: clear jewels really make a great piece of jewelry! You know that birthstones are always in style, right? The gemstones shown here are glass, not “precious” minerals – but they’re the right birthstone colors, and they’re really pretty. That kind of covers the important stuff, you know?

You can so easily personalize your jewelry, your gifts, or your customer requests! Or – just something to consider in future – you can combine birthstones. Make a necklace or earrings that combine emerald for May, and September for sapphire – there are so many possibilities for DIY jewelry designs. That look great. And don’t cost a fortune. Sometimes you don’t want dangling earrings getting in the way – or you want to appear demure and shy. (Yeah, hey, it could be, right?) Stud earring jewels (or button earrings, depending on who’s talking) are super popular in my shop right now – so I thought I would show you a few more new colors and shapes 🙂  These are well faceted, pretty glass “jewels” – super affordable compared to precious gemstones – and honestly? Unless you’ve got thousands to spend on one pair of earrings, these are going to be prettier! And yes, I thought of these colors because of St. Patrick’s Day 🙂 Though I have to admit, emerald (whether rhinestone or gemstone) is one of my fave colors! It’s flattering, it’s pretty much always in style, and if I happen to have red hair sometimes, well, you got me 🙂  Either way, emerald looks good! And combined with these smaller sapphire rhinestone octagons, you’ve got a smashing DIY earrings idea. Of course you’ll customize it with personalized colors, and your own creative touch. Go for it! Aquamarine is a semi precious gemstone, a light blue-green beryl that’s primarily found in granite (no really!) It’s the March birthstone – and it’s lovely. Also expensive. But aqua rhinestone gems? Gorgeous AND affordable. This is more like the way most of us shop! And why not?
