Fuschia glass gems for your DIY jewelry

Vivid color is always fun to work with – and to wear! Case in point, I wanted to highlight some fuschia stones in my shop right now 🙂

Of course this pic shows only two of the gorgeous stones I have in fuschia pink – but just as an example, look how well these two shapes would pair up to make pendants or dangling earrings!

And you know what I like to do sometimes – if you decided to order these two shapes (yes they’re sold separately) – you get to pick another pair of stones for yourself, as a freebie. Doesn’t matter what color or shape – you get a freebie. After you order the two stones shown in this pic, just send me a note to let me know what you want for free!

This offer is only good through midnight on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 – so don’t wait too long. And remember to have fun!

Sapphire sheer glass gems for your DIY jewelry

I wanted to show off some new pics of sapphire sheer glass gems I have in my shop right now. They’re some of my favorites! And hey, customer favorites too. And you know as well as I do that blue is a color that looks great all year round. Just saying!

The beautiful thing about these sapphire stones (well aside from the fact that they really are lovely!) is that you can use them “as is” and have great DIY jewelry. Yes they’re terrific combined with other colors and shapes and I’m going to highlight a few of those coming up soon. But used alone, as pendants or earring components, they’re still fabulous!

And from today through midnight on Wednesday, June 18, when you buy any of the sapphire glass jewels in my shop (a pendant or a pair) you get one free. Just mention this blog post after you order – and let me know what freebie you want!

SALE! Buy three, get one free!

Yes, I’m having a year-end sale! Or Beginning of 2025 Sale. Whatever works, yknow? For this particular sale, every item in my shop is on sale! The pic shown here features just a few of the new and vintage glass gems and other jewelry supplies that are on sale 🙂

How does it work, you ask? (I know you did!) Order any three items – and get another one for free. Equal or lesser value, that’s the one rule. But other than that? You choose. When you order – three items, remember – just let me know what you want for free. Order six items (of one listing, or six different ones, or two items from three listings, or however it adds up to six items) and you get two items for free.

And yes, if you order 30 items, you get 10 items free. Don’t wait, this is only through midnight on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 (that sounds so cool!)

Yes I’ll be having more super sales. But this is a good start!

New Glass Jewels – Light Khaki Tan Coordinating Pears and Squares

I love this color! These glass gems are new in my shop and they’re a great neutral. A bit deeper than beige – close to light tan, or khaki tan.

These pear or teardrop shaped glass stones are great for earrings or pendants – and since they are also available in two-ring connector settings, they’re also terrific glass links. Pair them with the coordinated sweet 8x8mm square gems as shown, or add your stashed beads or stones. You’ll figure out the design that works best for you – that’s the beauty of DIY jewelry!

Crystal Oval Glass Gems – Faceted Glass ‘Diamonds’

You remember we were talking several days ago about diamonds being the birthstone for April. Well of course diamonds are gorgeous – but gemstone diamonds also cost a fortune. Faceted crystal glass “diamonds” are also sparkling, flattering and lovely – and they don’t cost a lot. Take a look at these pretties!

These jewels make a great pendant-and-earrings set “as is”. They really don’t need a lot of embellishment! Slip the larger oval onto a chain with a strong jump ring and your necklace is ready. Add earwires to the medium-size (14x10mm) ovals, and you have fabulous matching earrings. Or decorate them with the beads, chains, and gems you like best. You know: make this idea your own!

P.S. If you want gorgeous, affordable, and EASY jewels for your wedding? These are wonderful bridal jewels!

Vintage patina brass filigrees

Vintage patina brass filigrees are a wonderful complement to vintage glass jewels (hey, they’re good with shiny new ones, too). Brass can be so timeless! The examples I show here are a few items in my shop right now. They’re actually new brass – but the die (or pattern) from which each is made, comes from mid 20th century – or earlier.

patina brass filigrees in my Etsy jewelry supplies shop

I love the intricacy and detailing of these pieces. They are all made in the USA – from manufacturers that have dominated the brass jewelry trade for decades. They are, let’s put it this way, the Rolls Royce of brass filigrees.

Okay, I’m biased. I’ve found some wonderful manufacturers. They truly are quality though. Imagine any of these pieces, with handwired teardrops or pearls. Or used as the connector in a fab bracelet. Or, well, you can imagine.

I’ll be showing off a few pieces in the weeks to come. But these? are a fabulous start to the Year of Fabulous Vintage (style) Jewelry 🙂
