Start the new year (yay 2021!) with pretty pink pendant and earring jewels!

Click on the picture to see more pink glass beads and jewels I have available right now. Or just bookmark the page for when you’re thinking more about spring colors – and pink jewelry for your customers, your bestie – and yourself!

It’s all cold and snowy outside right now (at my house anyway) – but Spring is coming!

P.S. Just in case – you know pink is a favorite color for bridesmaid jewelry, right? Just saying…

New necklace design idea – make it your own!

So here’s a necklace design idea I really like:

necklace design idea featuring opaque glass jewels in ovals and teardrop shapes

The style is classic, really – oval cabochons leading to a teardrop shaped centerpiece. But you can have so much fun, mixing colors, maybe styles, shapes, you name it! Take the idea – and make it yours…!

And whatever design and ideas you use, it’s great to make Christmas prezzies for your friends and loved ones – and you save money at the same time. Love that idea!

Black diamond earrings – and a sale!

Now these are truly “Statement Earrings” – bold and strong. I show them here in Black Diamond, a neutral that looks great year round – but of course you could use any color rhinestones. Or combination of colors, come to think of it – I may post more pics later just to show some examples!

The pear or teardrop shaped stones here are larger than I usually wear – but they make such an impact! And I don’t mean “weight” impact – they’re not that heavy. Paired with the faceted octagons, they’re just classy 🙂

And yes, if you’re thinking ahead, these would be fabulous Christmas prezzies for your bff or your mom. Or for you. Or for New Year’s Eve. Know what I mean, right?

P.S. Oh! The “sale” I mentioned – for the rest of July 2020, if you buy the black diamond 25×18 teardrops (if you want to make earrings you’ll need two, they’re listed onsite as singles) – send me a note and I’ll include the 10x8mm octagons for free. Limited time offer and all that – just mention this blog post (and remember, this is through July 31, 2020!)

A Handmade Mask – and great neighbors

My husband noticed that our new neighbors were working on their lawn and went over to offer his weed eater to them – just being friendly and maybe helpful. Yes, he was being careful – they didn’t shake hands, and he was wearing a double-folded, high-cotton Harley Davidson Bandanna mask, so he was covered. During the course of the casual conversation, New Neighbor happened to ask if we had any actual masks. Nope, we were using bandannas and scarves – and mostly just staying home and avoiding people!

Yard chores finished (for the moment), DH came home, said the new folks seemed like good people, and we went about our day.

Later on, out of the blue, a package with two masks appeared on our porch. Just a friendly gesture, yknow? A gift from our new neighbors. The masks are beautifully made, fitted onto the face as they should be, and created with tightly woven cotton, which is supposed to be the most effective fabric to use.

I wanted to show off the one I will be proudly wearing on those few errands to the outside world!

So now I have a handmade mask that’s pretty cool. And the neighbors?

Are very cool 🙂

P.S. Oh! I almost forgot to mention, my mask is reversible. Here’s the other side:

Red glass jewels – sparkle in 2020

Just a quick post today (where does the time go!?) to show off some pretty red glass jewels available in my shop right now – and to celebrate 2020, there’s a great sale going on right now too!

red glass jewels available in my shop

Buy any RED item in my shop (see link above) and get a second item free! The sale’s only good through February 5, 2020 – so don’t wait too long. Just buy an item, then message me to tell me what you want your freebie to be. Equal or lesser value and all that, but that’s the only catch!

And it’s sheer coincidence that RED is my fabulousness color right now, and that the Kansas City Chiefs colors are red and white and they’re in the Super Bowl tomorrow! Just a coincidence. Right!

(Go Chiefs!)

Happy New Year!

Just a quick note (I know, where does the time go lately!) – to wish all of you a happy, prosperous, healthy, loving new year. Let’s make this a good one!

the pups wishing us all a happy new year 2020

The pups definitely agree. Even if they look like they’re waiting (semi-patiently) for The Ball to come their way. There are priorities, after all 🙂

Happy New Year, y’all!

Bridal gems (crystal stones) on sale!

Bridal crystals are beautiful. Shimmering, sparkling crystal glass beads are perfect on brides. But what we want to remember, is that they are gorgeous year round – for all sorts of jewelry. A tiny pair of diamond earrings – and the diamonds are actually crystal so they cost about a zillion times less. Or, a fabulous display of crystal chandelier earrings – can you say “knock them out” at New Year’s? Yeah, you see what I mean.

I’m going to post some jewelry design ideas asap using these lovely crystals – but meanwhile, keep in mind that when you buy one of the gems pictured (or other crystal “clear” foil back gems) you can get a second pair free! Just send me a note and tell me what your freebie should be. Equal or lesser value to the item you bought, but that’s the only catch! This offer is good through midnight on Friday, October 11, and while supplies last – so you might not want to wait 🙂

Crystal gems are always in style!

Amethyst glass gems – the February birthstone

As long as we’re talking about birthstones and birthstone colors, you might want to be thinking a bit ahead – and making jewelry for your February birthday ladies 🙂 So I thought I’d show you some amethyst glass gems that would be fabulous for February gifts!p>

I’ll be putting up a few examples of do it yourself jewelry featuring amethyst rhinestones – just to add to the ideas I bet you’re already envisioning. So come back and check soon – there’ll be a sale or two as well!

Our goal for 2019: Do it yourself – and save – and give your loved ones gifts they’ll love!

Amethyst glass octagon jewels – vintage pendants and earrings

I am so happy I was able to get another supply of these fabulous amethyst purple vintage glass beads – this size and shape is hard to come by anymore. These are in great shape for their age (from the 1950s, if the packaging is accurate and I think it is – the paper they’re wrapped in pre-dated telephone area codes!)

The 16x11mm octagons are a terrific faceted shape – not too small, not too large, with wonderful faceting. And the color is wonderful – true amethyst, not too dark but still rich. I wish I could get every stne shape in this color!

Your bestie would love a Christmas gift made with these jewels. Or make a gift for your mom.  Or, hey, for yourself!

Do it yourself necklace design idea

You know I’ve talked about how useful “ornaments” can be. In this context, ornaments are links or charms – components that you use in your jewelry design to add texture, shine, and a bit more complexity to boost your design up another level.

Case in point, this lovely do it yourself necklace design idea!

I show a sheer sapphire blue rhinestone pendant here – you’ll use your favorite shape and color (or your customer’s favorite!) The textured brass flower is new in my shop and is a wonderful component used as an earring or pendant link (stay tuned, I’ll be showing some more cool ways to use these charms!)

Easy to use, customizeable, and affordable – this is the way it’s supposed to be!
