New Earrings Design Idea – Sapphire and Peridot

I just tried out a new earrings design idea, deliberately using glass jewels that were similar in size, and trying to find colors that had glam without being huge and heavy. I think these earrings work!

The glass gems here are sapphire blue glass octagons that measure 14mm x 10mm – that’s about 5/8″ x 3/8″. I paired them with peridot green vintage glass ovals that are 12mm x 10mm (close to 1/2″ x 3/8″). Blue and green are colors I wear together lots of times, and I think other women do too, I’m not just being weird. Yes, I like to try more unusual color combinations sometimes… but here, blue and green. Totally work together!

You can change the sizes and shapes of the jewels, of course – this design is just a suggestion of jewels to combine. You’ll use your own color style, and design choices. And not have to spend a huge amount of money, and have *exactly* what you want. That’s the way it’s supposed to work!

Sapphire Glass Beads and Gems – on sale!

Sapphire blue is definitely one of the customer favorite colors in my Etsy shop. This isn’t a new concept – sapphire is probably one of the universally popular colors. Year round, for special occasions, you name it.

And the sapphire blue stones in my shop are on sale right now! Buy any pair of sapphire glass gems – and get a second pair free. Buy a sapphire blue pendant – and get a second pendant for free. You can dicker on which freebie you get, too. Just remember the phrase “equal or lesser value”. You get the idea 🙂

All you have to do is buy an item, then send a “note to seller” to tell me which freebie you want. This sale is good through midnight on July 7, 2022 – and of course only while supplies last. Great for gifts for your mom, your bff, and even for yourself!

Customize your Glass Jewels, Part 2

Several days ago I featured multi-stone glass gems in my Etsy shop. And I think I mentioned I’d be showcasing more of these multistone glass gems, later on. Well that’s what I’m doing today!

These examples feature a few more of the multi stone gems I have in my shop – and like the previous entries, these can be customized easily by changing the color of the tiny stone. So if your sister loves navy blue and purple, you could request amethyst purple tiny stones combined with montana sapphire, or navy blue, glass pears. And that’s just an example of the possible customizations!

You know best what works for you, and your friends and customers – and now you realize just how easy it is to customize these jewels. Don’t spend a lot of money, create jewelry the way you want it – that’s absolutely how it should work!

Golden Topaz Vintage Glass Pendants – Clearance Sale!

These sheer golden topaz glass penants are on clearance sale in my Etsy shop. Now there’s a reason. When I pulled out my last packet of these pendants recently, I noticed many of them (okay, most) had tiny scratches on the ‘face’ – the top faceting. I didn’t even see the scratches until I was looking through my magnifying light. They’re small, and unobtrusive – but the scratches are there.

The scratches certainly wouldn’t stop me from using these pendants – and I’m pretty fussy. These are true vintage, somewhere over 50 years old. The original package they came in (and this is a very reliable vendor) had a telephone number that did *not* include an area code. So the pendants predate 1951. I love using vintage – we aren’t creating a new carbon footprint and that’s great. But even more, these are gorgeous, and yes they show their age a bit. I know it’s a cliche – but to me, that really adds to the charm!

Anyway if you’re looking for vintage glass gems, and you’re looking for golden topaz – these could be exactly what you need. Of course this is limited to stock on hand – when they’re gone, they’re gone. I think you’ll love them!

Peridot Glass Gems – on sale!

Peridot green glass gems are on sale in my Etsy shop. You know that peridot is the birthstone color for August – and I figure peridot glass gems absolutely fall into that same category. Beautiful, with terrific faceting, and super affordable – and in time for planning some gifts for your friends and family who have August birthdays!

For the next week – through midnight on June 30, 2022 – when you purchase any peridot green glass gems, you can get a second pendant or pair of jewels, free! Order the gems you want – and then mention this blog post in a “Note to Seller” to tell me want your freebie (and you can dicker on which one that is!) Only while supplies last (I have to add that, you know how it is).

I do have more shapes and sizes than are shown in the pic above – and sometimes I have others stashed, but haven’t got them listed yet. So if you’re looking for a specific style or size and don’t see it – please do send a note and ask, I might have some!

Red Glass Gems – on sale!

Red glass gems are on sale this week in my Etsy shop! Of course that includes the pendant shown below – but also coordinating smaller jewels. Octagons, rounds, teardrops – all on sale. Ruby red is the birthstone color for July – so this sale is just in time for you to design and make some special July birthday gifts!

For the next week – through midnight on June 22, 2022 – when you purchase a red glass pendant or pair of red jewels, you can get a second pendant or pair of jewels, free! All you have to do is order your item – and then mention this blog post in a “Note to Seller” and let me know you want your freebie. Easy to do and a great way to save money for gifts!

This is only while supplies last – so you might not want to wait. Make gifts – save money – this is the way it ought to work!

New Earring Design Idea with Glass Jewels and Brass Filigree

The flower shaped, silver plated brass filigree in this earring design idea is one of my favorite filigrees. Right now I have it in my shop in golden raw brass – note that I do have a few silver pairs left, so just drop me a note if you want to see some!

The combination of glass teardrops and flower shaped filigree really works here I think! And since most of my jewels are available in golden raw brass as well as silver plated settings, you can match whichever metal settings color you prefer. I do have a limited quantity of the filigrees in silver – just drop me a note if you’re interested! And I do have more on the way.

Delicate, feminine brass filigrees combined with glass gems – this is a winning combo that you can customize with your favorite colors and shapes. And you don’t have to spend a lot of money. This is a win!

Sale Items in my Etsy shop!

I wanted to point out a few of the items on sale in my shop. Not just “on sale” – but “for sale”. These are specials – you might want to go peek!

The items in this pic are not the only ones on sale – and I’ll post more pics soon. But in the meantime, please do go look. You could find just the earring jewels you wanted – or a new pendant for that gift for your mom – on sale. This is the way it’s supposed to work, yknow? Great looking jewelry that’s easy to make – and saving money too. Love it!

Classic DIY Necklace Design

Yes, this is a classic necklace design: a faceted pear or teardrop shaped pendant on a simple silver(ish) chain. This works year round but the ruby red color is especially appropriate right now, since the birthstone color for July is ruby red.

Of course this design works with your favorite color, too. I just wanted to show you the sample in ruby red! It will look great worn over a tee shirt, or with a cocktail dress for dinner. It’s known as classic for a reason – this works!

Multi Stone Glass Beads – Customize These!

One of the most popular styles of pendant and earring glass jewels in my shop are multi-stone glass gems. These can be ovals, teardrops, octagons – the jewels shown here are just examples of the styles you can find.

First, remember that most of the stones I have available in my shop can be fitted into one of these multi stone settings. Any 18mm x 13mm pear, for example, would fit into the style shown at the lower right. Any 10mm x 8mm octagon can be set into the setting shown at upper right. And on and on.

So in that sense, these can be customized. Even more, you can pick the color of the tiny stones from a long list of colors I have available (see the ‘Variations’ on each listing, to learn about those colors). So if your favorite colors are yellow and purple, you can request those colors in these multi stone settings! And – this is a popular option – your earrings or pendants can match your bridesmaid colors.

Just send me a note and let me know the custom colors you need!
