Gorgeous Stuart Weitzman vintage pumps

Yes, this is why I love vintage. These are beautiful shoes, they’re one of those rare pairs that are sexy, feminine, high-heeled and STILL WEARABLE.

vintage Stuart Weitzman honey tan vintage pumps

Stuart Weitzman is a very high-end name in women’s footwear, and you can see why. Look at the details – a classic low-throated pump that doesn’t have a ridiculously pointed toe (which is totally painful). A high, slender heel that isn’t dangerously wobbly. Beautiful leather. (And I love the honey tan color.) These are a class act!

I found these at Lilli’s Closet, a vintage boutique on Etsy. Lilli, the curator and shop owner, has some other wonderful finds there. She shows wonderful details in her pics so you know what you’re getting – and she seems to have a specially talented eye for finding wonderful shoes!

PS Did I mention how affordable these Weitzman pumps are? Get ready for this: $30.00. Yes. Go shopping 🙂

Vintage gray dress – and. Wow.

And this, right here, is why I think vintage is the greatest. This dress is pure class. It’s wearable, the draping is uber flattering, it’s work appropriate *and* it can go out to dinner. And make you look good.

I was originally looking for a gray dress so I could show you how cool it would be with the black diamond (gray) rhinestone connectors in my previous post here. But I don’t even need that excuse. This dress is going to look good no matter how you accessorize it – and think how many ways you could do that. Vivid scarf – great pumps. Leather boots. Spike heels. Rhinestones, pearls, glammed up – or toned down with wood cuffs or lucite.

It’s available from Cocovintages boutique and the owner, Kate, has some fabulous goodies. I’m totally serious, go there, you’re so going to thank me 🙂

This is a great dress!

PS And! It is NOT a size 2, it is a 14(ish). You can find great vintage in Real People sizes. They do get grabbed up though – you’d think they were in demand or something. (Please tell me why the fashion world tends to forget about you if you’re not a size 2 or maybe a 4. I’m still trying to figure that one out.)

Vintage pink party dress

See, I wanted to show you how great the idea of wearing vintage dresses with vintage (or even new) rhinestone jewels can be. Take a look at this adorable vintage party dress:

Pair this sweet dress with my pink teardrop jewels (see previous post), and you’ll have a wonderful party outfit.

The dress is a fab vintage find available from Vintage Life and Design and you are going to love this shop. Shelley, the owner, has a terrific eye for quality, affordable vintage items that real people can use. Go shopping, you’ll thank me!

Vintage Dance Dress

This is a great dress. I don’t even have to say anything – just look:

vintage green dance dress

Of course I *am* going to say more, because I am really impressed with this dress – and with her additional pics. She shows great detail – and she shows that dress, how it moves and how it flatters.

It’s available at Jabberwocky Vintage on Etsy. Go check out her other listings (and urge her to post more) – because she has a great eye!

This is what a dress ought to be. Fun – flattering – affordable – and, well, look at it. Isn’t that how you want to feel when you grab your favorite dress?

Fabulous dress for fall – Vintage, of course

We were talking about dresses the other day – how they should be good-looking, and comfortable, and wearable for work (usually) and even for everyday, they should have a pizzaz. Also they shouldn’t cost a fortune. Also they should, preferably, be vintage, because that’s just better.

And! Here we are:

vintage gray dress - plus size, gorgeous, easy to wear

See, I told you true: this is a fabulous dress! Feminine – but not fussy. Great with flats or stilettos. Year round.

You’ll find it at Olivia’s Butterfly, a vintage shop on Etsy. And it is filled with wonderful goodies. Affordable. Wearable. You can tell that just by the pics and the staging: Kayla, the shop owner, knows how to show her items, how to photograph them and how to tell you about them. She tells it like it is, flaws if there are any, and her prices are major reasonable.

This is a find. You will want to visit this shop and bookmark it, and remember it when you’re shopping for yourself or for gifts.

Because this dress? could take you anywhere. A club. Dinner. Church. Paris. Seriously.

A fabulous vintage bag for fall

Now this is what I call a terrific bag. It’s vintage – which you know is a major plus in my book. It’s a versatile, go-with-everything color – even when it doesn’t match (and who wants to be matchy-matchy anyway?) it looks good.

It’s super affordable. It’s roomy without being so huge it’s going to be too heavy to enjoy.

I found this great bag over at Rocky Springs Vintage. Not only does the owner, Gail, have some fabulous finds – and she really does – but her tagline is “We are all about rescuing, preserving and recycling.”

You know I love that! And you do too. And you are going to love her shop!

Vintage pink prom, party, bridesmaid dress!

I love that this dress feels very modern – but it’s vintage. It’s got such clean lines – and a fabulous color – and it’s not *ordinary*, you know?

And I love the staging! This is why good pics are important: the girl in this pic looks like she’s enjoying herself. She looks like she could be having fun, that she likes where she is, and who she is. That’s how she looks. That’s what I want a dress to do for me!

Plus it’s actually modest – for those times when you need that – but it doesn’t look stupid like most “modest” dresses do. She looks cool, and I don’t mean temperature. I like her – she’s got attitude. That’s not the dress talking – but it’s all part of the package. And it WORKS.

You’ll find this great dress at Vintage Life and Design and even if this fab dress is gone when you visit, you will be glad you’re there. Shelly, the owner, has such great finds you are going to be doing some Real Shopping.

Gunne Sax. A vintage white wedding purse. Cheetah print shoes – yes, I mean it. You will thank me!

Vintage wedding gown and a great shop

I wish I needed a wedding dress (and that this lovely gown was my size). This beautiful wedding gown is vintage, is in great shape, and if you are in the market at ALL, please keep reading!

vintage white wedding gown from Vics Vintage Closet

Because: beautiful ivory white fabric with what looks almost like trapumto detailing (machine done but still). Strapless, with tags STILL ON. And a train. A bit of sitting-in-storage dust so it needs to be cleaned – but, unworn!

It’s beautiful, it’s classic *and* classy. It’s available from Vic’s Vintage Closet on Etsy. And (probably because Vic is moving, and everything in her lovely shop is on sale) it is selling for $45.00 plus shipping. I am not kidding!

If it’s gone by the time you see this post, then you still want to peek. Because she has such lovely items – a Calvin Klein jacket, a Diane von Furstenburg dress, a Liz Claiborne bag – oh, you’ve got to go look.

You are going to thank me!

Vintage pink wiggle dress

Seriously, I have found the most enchanting dress. I know I’ve said this before, but LOOK. It’s just. Exactly what a dress should be.

vintage pink wiggle dress

I found it at Voyeur Vintage on Etsy and as you can imagine, the owner Tania has some wonderful and delectable finds. Well, you knew that, as soon as you saw her fabulous photo: not only is this the best dress you will have seen in years, but the staging and the accessories are beyond wonderful.

This dress, this oh-this-little-thing-that-I-just-happened-to-put-on is totally going to, well, it could transform your closet. Or your date. Or your life. Or none of the above, but, you know, just be fun and fabulous and make you feel like a queen. Isn’t that what a dress is supposed to do?

Vintage black and white sundress

And here’s a(nother) terrific example of why I love vintage. Is this dress not adorable?

vintage black and white sundress from Reds Vintage Threads

True, it isn’t really old vintage. It’s only 20 or 30 years old. Somehow that doesn’t bother me (and yes I’m being a little snarky). It’s a totally cool dress – literally and figuratively. It would be uber flattering. It would be comfy. And I’d have to doublecheck the fabric but I bet it’s washable too. Ergo: the perfect summer dress. Not too dressy – but pretty – can be worn anywhere and feel as good as it looks.

And it’s – you are not going to believe this – it is $15.00. Fifteen dollars! It’s available from Reds Vintage Threads vintage shop on Etsy – and Maegan, the owner, has LOTS of goodies there.

Like I said – totally of the good – go shopping!
